Green (calf) finished Saturday's 153-121 loss to the Thunder with 12 points (4-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists, two rebounds and two blocks in 22 minutes. Green was back in action after a three-game absence due to a bruised calf, but fantasy managers may have preferred for the second-year guard to have sat out Saturday after he delivered a dud of a performance while seeing limited minutes on account of the blowout. Poor efficiency from the field and a lack of peripheral statistics continue to cap Green's overall fantasy upside and render him a far more useful option in points leagues than category formats.... Rockets' Jalen Green: Officially available Saturday
Green (calf) is available for Saturday's matchup against the Thunder, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Green got through warmups without a hitch, so he'll return following a three-game absence. With Kevin Porter (foot), Eric Gordon (knee) and Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) out, Green could see more usage than usual. In January, Green averaged 22.4 points, 4.0 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 35.0 minutes, but his shooting splits of 40/34/75 leave much to be desired.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Likely to play
Green (calf) will likely be available for Saturday's game against the Thunder, barring a setback in pregame warmups, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Green is expected to return Saturday following a three-game absence due to a bruised right calf. Whether or not he's on a minutes limit, the sophomore guard could see increased usage since Kevin Porter (foot), Eric Gordon (knee) and Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) are out. In January, Green averaged 22.4 points, 4.0 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 35.0 minutes, but his shooting splits of 40/34/75 leave much to be desired.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Officially questionable at OKC
Green (calf) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Thunder. Green may return Saturday following a three-game absence due to a bruised right calf. Whether or not he's on a minutes limit, the sophomore guard could see increased usage if available since Kevin Porter (foot), Eric Gordon (knee) and Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) are out. In January, Green averaged 22.4 points, 4.0 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 35.0 minutes, but his shooting splits of 40/34/75 leave something to be desired.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Could return Saturday
Rockets coach Stephen Silas said Thursday "fingers crossed" in regard to Green (calf) being available to play in Saturday's game versus the Thunder, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports. Green has already been ruled out for Friday's game versus the Raptors due to a calf injury. However, if he is unable to suit up Saturday, Silas said he will definitely be able to return for Monday's matchup with the Kings.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Out Friday
Green (calf) is out Friday against the Raptors, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports. As expected, the sophomore guard will sit out a third straight game due to a bruised right calf. Given that he was initially listed as doubtful, it wouldn't be surprising if Green also sat out the second half of the back-to-back Saturday against the Thunder. With Kevin Porter (foot/toe) still out, Daishen Nix and Kenyon Martin should remain in the starting five.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Unlikely to return Friday
Coach Stephen Silas said Green (calf) "probably won't play" in Friday's game versus the Raptors, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports. Green returned to practice Thursday after missing the previous two games with a calf injury. While he was expected to return this weekend, his likely absence Friday means that Saturday's matchup with the Thunder is his target date.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Remains out Wednesday
Green (calf) won't play Wednesday against Oklahoma City. Green didn't practice Monday or Tuesday, so it's no surprise that he'll miss a second straight game with a bruised right calf. The fact that he's been ruled out well in advance of Wednesday's contest isn't the most encouraging sign, and fantasy managers should be prepared for the possibility that Green also misses at least one half of the Rockets' upcoming back-to-back set Friday (versus Toronto) and Saturday (at Oklahoma City).... Rockets' Jalen Green: Still not practicing
Green (calf) didn't practice Tuesday, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports. Green was sidelined for Saturday's win over the Pistons due to a right calf bruise and didn't practice Monday or Tuesday, putting his status for Wednesday's game against the Thunder in serious jeopardy. However, further clarity on his availability will surface when Houston releases its next official injury report. Kevin Porter (foot) remains out, so if Green is also sidelined again, Daishen Nix, Josh Christopher and TyTy Washington would all be candidates for increased roles.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Sits out practice
Green (calf) didn't participate in Monday's practice session, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Green sat out Saturday's win over the Pistons due to the right calf bruise, but the Rockets remain hopeful that he'll be able to return to action Wednesday against the Thunder despite missing practice Monday. Over his last six appearances, Green has averaged 23.5 points, 4.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 35.5 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Out Saturday
Green is out for Saturday's game against the Pistons due to a bruised right calf. Saturday will mark just the second time this season Green has missed a game. With Kevin Porter (foot) also sidelined, more minutes will be available for TyTy Washington, Daishen Nix, Garrison Mathews and Josh Christopher.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Scores 19 with 19 shots
Green supplied 19 points (6-19 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds and seven assists over 38 minutes during Wednesday's 108-103 loss to Washington. Green had a rough shooting performance but still ended as one of Houston's main scoring threats, and his contributions in other categories salvaged his fantasy performance. The second-year floor general has had a few off nights in the current month, but he's been serviceable for the most part. He's averaging 23.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game in January.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Delivers another 40-point outing
Green notched a career-high 42 points (15-25 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 6-10 FT) to go along with four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 35 minutes during Monday's 119-114 win over the Timberwolves. Just five days after tying his previous career high with a 41-point explosion in a loss to Charlotte, Green upped the ante with an even bigger scoring night. A 41.6 percent shooter from the field and a 33.2 percent shooter from downtown for the season, Green achieved the new career high in scoring thanks to some inflated shooting, though that didn't carry over to the free-throw line. Green's overall lack of efficiency can make his production volatile from game to game. but he'll at least benefit from an uptick in usage while backcourt mate Kevin Porter (ankle) remains sidelined.... Rockets' Jalen Green: Ties career high with 41 points
Green finished with 41 points (16-24 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven assists and five rebounds across 40 minutes during Wednesday's 122-117 loss to the Hornets. The 41-point explosion matched Green's previous career high, which he established in the regular-season finale of his rookie campaign. With backcourt mate Kevin Porter (foot) missing his fourth consecutive contest Wednesday, Green enjoyed a usage rate north of 30 percent for the second time during that stretch, and he paired the increased time on the ball with an increase his overall efficiency en route to the big scoring night. Even after the strong shooting performance, Green still hasn't quite taken the step forward many expected in his sophomore season. His 53.5 true shooting percentage is 1.2 points below his 2021-22 mark.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Posts 23 points in return
Green finished Monday's 140-132 loss to the Lakers with 23 points (7-20 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 6-8 FT), five rebounds and three assists in 39 minutes. Back in action after he served a one-game suspension in Sunday's loss to the Clippers, Green saw extended playing time out of the backcourt while running mate Kevin Porter (foot) missed a third game in a row. Despite stepping in as the Rockets' de facto starting point guard, Green didn't see a major uptick in his passing, as wing Eric Gordon (eight assists) and center Alperen Sengun (six assists) instead acted as the top facilitators for Houston. Regardless of which players the Rockets have available on a given night, Green's fantasy value is largely going to be tied to his scoring and three-point production.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Suspended for Sunday's contest
Green received a one-game suspension for leaving the bench area during an altercation in Friday's game against the Kings, and he'll serve the suspension Sunday against the Clippers. Jae'Sean Tate was also suspended for the Rockets with multiple other players receiving fines. Green's absence will be significant for Houston since he is averaging 21.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 34.5 minutes this season. Kevin Porter (foot) is doubtful, likely leaving TyTy Washington, Garrison Mathews, Josh Christopher and Daishen Nix to serve as members of Houston's backcourt rotation Sunday.... See More ... Rockets' Jalen Green: Shoots better in loss Friday
Green closed Friday's 139-114 loss to the Kings with 27 points (10-21 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and two steals across 33 minutes. Green's 27 points tied for the team lead with rookie Jabari Smith, and the scoring total came with an improved shooting line. While Green came into the contest averaging 19.5 points over his previous six games, he shot a miserable 32.4 percent from the field over that span. However, against Sacramento, Green found his stroke from deep, going 5-for-9 from beyond the arc. Though he doesn't produce much in the way of peripheral stats and is shooting just 40.6 percent overall this season, Green does provide plenty of scoring and triples, averaging 21.5 points and 2.4 three-pointers per game on the campaign.... Rockets' Jalen Green: Shooting woes continue
Green ended Wednesday's 135-115 loss to the Kings with 26 points (9-25 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 5-7 FT), five rebounds and three assists in 39 minutes. Though Green led the Rockets with 26 points, he needed 25 shots to reach that mark. He appears to have the green light as he tries to work his way out of a shooting slump that has seen him make just 35 of 108 field-goal attempts (32.4 percent) over his past seven games. While Green's fairly consistent scoring output can be nice from a fantasy perspective, he's one of the game's biggest field-goal drains -- among qualified players averaging at least 20 points per contest, none have a lower field-goal rate than Green's 40.4 percent mark.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Scores inefficient 30 points
Green provided 30 points (8-24 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 10-11 FT), four rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes during Thursday's 131-114 loss to the Jazz. Green led the Rockets with 30 points, although his shooting woes continued, going just 8-of-24 from the field. He has now shot under 35 percent in four straight games, adding basically nothing on the defensive end. His flaws are obvious for all to see, placing him well outside the top 150 for the season. While he is still a must-roster player, he is certainly not going to be a viable option for everyone.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Jalen Green: Scores 16 with 15 shots
Green logged 16 points (5-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one block in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 119-108 loss to the Pelicans. Green has surpassed the 15-point mark in eight straight contests, and while he continues to produce in the backcourt, the shooting woes are real for the second-year guard. Green is shooting just 39.5 percent from the floor in his last five contests.... See More ... See Less
