  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Limited impact in 2024-25 campaign

Cancar finished the 2024-25 campaign with averages of 1.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.3 three-pointers, 0.2 steals and 0.2 blocks across 10.5 minutes per game in 13 regular-season appearances. Cancar received limited run during the regular season, and he played only 11 minutes across three appearances in the playoffs. The 28-year-old forward missed an extended period after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in December. He had previously undergone surgery in August 2023 to repair a torn ACL in the same knee. Cancar has spent all five years of his NBA career in Denver and is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Rare appearance Tuesday

Cancar racked up no counting stats in two minutes during Tuesday's 131-115 win over the Clippers in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Cancar logged minutes for the second straight game, albeit a garbage-time performance. Prior to the last two games, Cancar had not left the bench for seven consecutive games. At this point, he is nothing more than a depth piece, made available if and when the result is non-negotiable.

  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Sees extended run

Cancar had five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal over 24 minutes during Monday's 114-105 victory over the Warriors. With Christian Braun (foot), Jamal Murray (ankle) and Nikola Jokic (elbow) all sidelined Monday, Cancar saw some rare rotation minutes Monday. He saw a combined nine minutes in three previous March appearances. Fantasy managers shouldn't chase this line from Cancar with those three injured players considered day-to-day.

  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Gets garbage-time run Sunday

Cancar (knee) played the final 1:13 of Sunday's 127-103 loss to the Thunder and recorded no statistics during his time on the court. After completing a lengthy recovery from an arthroscopic procedure on his sprained left knee, Cancar took the floor for the first time since Nov. 19. The Nuggets had cleared Cancar to play in their previous two contests, but he wasn't included in the rotation in close wins over the Kings and Suns. Despite Aaron Gordon (calf) sitting out the entire second half Sunday and potentially being in line to miss some time, Cancar doesn't look as though he'll be much of a beneficiary in the form of increased playing time.

  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Will play vs. Sacramento

Cancar (knee) has been cleared to play in Wednesday's game against the Kings, Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette reports. Cancar has missed the last 46 games for the Nuggets but was finally cleared to play Wednesday to face Sacramento. It's unclear whether he'll have any fantasy impact, as he averaged only 8.5 minutes per contest during the four games he played for Denver this season.

  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Won't play Sunday

Cancar (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Celtics. Cancar continues to work his way back from arthroscopic surgery that he underwent on his left knee in early December, so it's not surprising to see him being ruled out here. His next chance to play will come against the Kings on Wednesday.

  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Practices Wednesday

Cancar (knee) participated in practice Wednesday, Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette reports. Cancar underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in December and has missed 42 games. This is a step in the right direction for the 27-year-old big man, as he'll provide some much-needed depth for Denver with the NBA playoffs around the corner. He's played only four games this season, averaging 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 8.5 minutes.

  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Undergoes arthroscopic knee surgery

Cancar (knee) will be re-evaluated in eight weeks following left knee surgery, Ryan Blackburn of MileHighSports.com reports. Cancar's injury woes with his left knee continue after initially tearing his ACL last summer while playing for Slovenia. Cancar only appeared in four contests this season, so Denver's current rotation will be unfazed. In the big picture, the 27-year-old wing ascended to 14.8 minutes while connecting on 37.4 percent of 1.9 threes per game across 60 appearances in 2022-23, but his momentum has been entirely stalled since.

  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Heads to locker room Tuesday

Cancar (knee) went back to the locker room with 3:47 remaining in the second quarter of Tuesday's game against Memphis, Ryan Blackburn of MileHighSports.com reports. Cancar threw down a dunk but landed awkwardly on his left leg and grabbed at his left knee. The forward tore his ACL in the same knee last year, and it is unlikely he will return to the game. If Cancar remains out, he will finish with five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and four rebounds across 11 minutes.

  • Nuggets' Vlatko Cancar: Returning Friday

Cancar (ankle) is available for Friday's game against the Pelicans. Cancar had missed the Nuggets' last six games due to a sprained ankle, but he'll be available off the bench Friday. Though Cancar doesn't project to hold a major role in the rotation for the balance of the season, he could see healthy minutes off the bench Friday with Nikola Jokic (personal) away from the team and with Aaron Gordon (calf) weeks away from a return.

Cancar (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Pelicans. Cancar has missed the Nuggets' last six games with a sprained right ankle, but he could be ready to return to action Friday. With Aaron Gordon (ankle) out, Peyton Watson has settled into a starting role at power forward, but Cancar could have an opportunity to enter the rotation as Watson's backup.
