  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Starting vs. Memphis

Awaka will start Friday's preseason game against the Grizzlies. Nic Claxton (hamstring), Zach Collins (toe) and Jalen Smith (foot) are all unavailable, opening the door for Awaka to enter the starting five. The 22-year-old was highly productive in Wednesday's preseason-opening win over the Suns, recording 14 points, 11 rebounds, a steal and a block in 21 minutes.

  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Double-doubles with two stocks

Awaka produced 14 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 11 rebounds, one steal and one block over 21 minutes in Wednesday's 124-117 preseason win over the Suns. With Nic Claxton (hamstring) and Zach Collins (toe) already banged up, Awaka is an intriguing guy to monitor this preseason. Though undersized, he's a superb rebounder, so he could earn minutes in the rotation if the Bulls' bigs aren't healthy to start the year.

  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Scores 12 points in loss

Awaka finished with 12 points (5-5 FG, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and one block over 19 minutes in Thursday's 105-82 Summer League loss to the Lakers. Awaka had a double-double in Tuesday's 99-87 Summer League victory over Washington. He wasn't as productive Thursday, but he still managed to record his second consecutive double-digit scoring performance in Las Vegas. The 22-year-old is currently signed to a two-way deal with the Bulls. Although Awaka could see some action with the parent club during the 2026-27 campaign, he is expected to spend most of his time in the G League.

  • Bulls' Tobe Awaka: Agrees to two-way deal with CHI

Awaka has agreed to a two-way contract with the Bulls, Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic reports. Despite being undersized at 6-foot-8, Awaka is a terrific rebounder who plays with a lot of grit on defense. He still has a lot of room to grow on offense, though, so he'll likely be a project for the Bulls this season, spending most of his time in the G League.
