  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Decent output Sunday

Ware had 12 points (6-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt), eight rebounds, five assists and one block over 28 minutes during Sunday's 122-105 victory over the Hornets. Ware finished just two boards shy of recording a double-double, but he also turned heads as a passer after delivering a new career-high mark in that category. Ware has scored in double digits in his last five appearances, a stretch in which he's averaging 14.2 points and 10.2 boards per contest.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Back to bench Monday

Ware is not in Miami's starting lineup against New York on Monday, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. Ware is coming off a double-double against the Grizzlies on Saturday. He has started in all but one game he's played in since Jan. 21, but he'll come off the bench Monday while Jaime Jaquez enters the Heat's starting five. Ware should still see meaningful minutes in a reserve role behind Bam Adebayo.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Records double-double

Ware ended Saturday's 125-91 loss to the Grizzlies with 19 points (8-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal over 36 minutes. The Heat looked overmatched in this 34-point loss to the Grizzlies, but Ware was one of the few standout performers for Miami. The rookie out of Indiana posted his first double-double since Feb. 23, when he supplied12 points and 12 boards against the Bucks. Ware is certainly more valuable in dynasty formats than in standard leagues, but he will continue to have a decent floor as long as he remains in a starting role, which is likely to be the case for the rest of the season.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Shifting to bench Friday

Ware is not in the Heat's starting lineup against the Celtics on Friday. Ware has started in every game he has appeared in since Jan. 21. The rookie first rounder will shift to a reserve role Friday as head coach Erik Spoelstra goes with Bam Adebayo at the five with Jaime Jaquez and Andrew Wiggins rounding out the Heat's starting frontcourt.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Makes defensive impact in return

Ware (knee) tallied seven points (3-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, two steals and two blocks across 26 minutes Saturday in the Heat's 114-109 loss to the Bulls. Back in action after a three-game absence due to a left knee sprain, Ware took back his spot in the starting five alongside Bam Adebayo. The rookie took a back seat on the offensive end to fellow starters Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Andrew Wiggins, but Ware piled up some useful numbers defensively. Since moving into a starting role Jan. 21, Ware is now averaging 10.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 1.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.7 three-pointers in 29.2 minutes while shooting 51.8 percent from the field and 76.2 percent from the free-throw line over 19 games.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Good to go Saturday

Ware (knee) is available for Saturday's game against the Bulls, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Ware had sat out the Heat's last three games with a left knee sprain, but he's made enough progress to give it a go Saturday. With Ware back in the fold, Kevin Love is likely to move to the bench. Since entering the starting lineup Jan. 21, Ware has averaged 10.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks over 29.4 minutes per game.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Out Monday with knee sprain

Ware has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Wizards due to a right knee sprain. Ware appeared to tweak his knee late in Sunday's 116-112 overtime loss to the Knicks, but he returned to action briefly thereafter while sporting a bit of a limp. He turned in one of his better performances of late with 12 points (6-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), eight rebounds and six blocks over 29 minutes, but the Heat will elect to hold him out for the second leg of a back-to-back set. With the rookie sidelined, the Heat will likely move Bam Adebayo back to center and could reopen a spot in the rotation for Kevin Love to serve as Adebayo's backup. Kyle Anderson and Haywood Highsmith will be the primary candidates to absorb minutes at power forward.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Good to go Wednesday

Ware (ankle) is available in Wednesday's game against Atlanta. Despite dealing with left ankle discomfort, Ware will give it a go Wednesday and play through the issue. There's no indication the rookie big man will face any restrictions against the Hawks. Over his last 15 games, Ware has averaged 10.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.1 blocks and 0.7 steals in 29.6 minutes.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Probable for Wednesday

Ware (ankle) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Hawks. Ware hasn't missed a game since Dec. 20 and is likely to suit up against the Hawks despite left ankle discomfort. The rookie big man has started in each of his last 15 appearances, during which he has averaged 10.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 blocks across 29.5 minutes per contest. Ware could see a slight uptick in playing time if Bam Adebayo (calf) is downgraded from questionable to out.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Big night on glass

Ware totaled eight points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 15 rebounds, three assists and one block over 24 minutes during Monday's 98-86 loss to the Hawks. The rookie center tied his career high in boards, and Ware likely would have established a new personal best if he hadn't sat out the entire fourth quarter. It's not clear what prompted that decision from coach Erik Spoelstra -- Ware came into the game nursing an ankle issue, but per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, no new injury was reported by the team. Ware did extend his streak of games with at least one rejection to seven, a stretch in which he's averaging 9.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 blocks.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Green light to play Monday

Ware (ankle) is available for Monday's game against the Hawks, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Ware popped up on the injury report due to left ankle discomfort, but the injury isn't severe enough for the rookie first-round pick to be sidelined for Monday's Southeast division clash. Ware has started in each of the Heat's last 14 games, and over that span he has averaged 11.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 blocks over 29.9 minutes per game.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Expected to play

Ware is probable for Monday's game against Atlanta due to left ankle discomfort. Ware logged 37 minutes Sunday against the Bucks, finishing with 12 points (6-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), 12 rebounds, four assists and one block. Despite being less than 100 percent, the Heat are planning on their center being available Monday evening.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Seventh double-double Sunday

Ware finished with 12 points (6-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), 12 rebounds, four assists and one block across 37 minutes during Sunday's 120-113 loss to Milwaukee. It was the seventh double-double of what continues to be an impressive rookie season for Ware. Over 14 contests since becoming a full-time starter Jan. 21, the rookie big man has averaged 11.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 blocks and 0.7 steals in 30.0 minutes. That said, Ware has posted double-digit points in only half of these appearances, so there might continue to be some ups and downs going forward.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Nears double-double in loss

Ware recorded 17 points (8-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 32 minutes during Thursday's 118-113 loss to Dallas. Ware came one rebound shy of recording his seventh double-double of the season in an efficient outing. The rookie also scored in double figures for just the 11th time. The 20-year-old has started in 12 consecutive contests, averaging 11.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 blocks across 30.1 minutes per game.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Continues to impress Thursday

Ware had 22 points (9-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 35 minutes during Thursday's 125-96 loss to the Bucks. The standout rookie big man kept his foot on the gas Thursday, piling up a team-high 22 points en route to his third double-double of the campaign. Considering Haywood Highsmith was mostly ineffective as a starter for the Heat during the first half of the season, the starting job alongside Bam Adebayo in Miami's frontcourt appears to be Ware's to lose at this point. Over his last eight contests, Ware has averaged 14.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.1 three-pointers in 26.1 minutes while shooting 55.1 percent from the field.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Double-doubles in first start

Ware recorded 20 points (8-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 15 rebounds and two blocks in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 116-107 loss to the Trail Blazers. Ware was rewarded with his first career start Tuesday after a strong outing against San Antonio. The rookie center paid back coach Eric Spoelstra's trust by putting up a career-high 15 rebounds and posting a plus-eight point differential despite losing. If Ware can keep performing at a high level, he will likely continue to start alongside Bam Adebayo in Miami's frontcourt.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Standout performance off bench

Ware amassed 25 points (10-19 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 34 minutes during Sunday's 128-107 victory over the Spurs. It was a standout performance off Miami's bench by Ware, who ended up exceeding Bam Adebayo's minutes total while matching his season high with 25 points to lead the team in Sunday's rout. Ware has made a serious case for more playing time with the Heat since the calendar flipped to January, as he's averaging 12.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.0 threes while shooting 45.8 percent from three-point land in 20.6 minutes over his last 11 games. The rookie first-rounder's fantasy upside will remain capped while Adebayo is healthy, but Ware is flashing a unique skill set for providing treys and swats alongside a high field-goal percentage.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Ties season high in rebounds

Ware amassed eight points (4-5 FG), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 19 minutes during Thursday's 97-92 win over the Jazz. Ware played fewer than 20 minutes for a third straight game but remains a key part of Miami's bench unit due to Jimmy Butler's (suspension) absence. Over his last six appearances, the rookie first-round pick has averaged 11.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 1.0 assists and 0.7 steals while shooting 68.4 percent from the field in 18.3 minutes per game.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Shines off bench vs. Indiana

Ware posted 25 points (9-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), one assist, three blocks and one steal over 21 minutes during Thursday's 128-115 loss to the Pacers. Ware had the best game of his young career by a sizable margin. The rookie struggled to crack the rotation in the first weeks of the season but has logged double-digit minutes in each of his last seven games, averaging 9.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game off the bench in that span. He should continue to see minutes off the bench going forward, especially if Miami trades Jimmy Butler ahead of the deadline.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Tallies career-high 10 points

Ware accumulated 10 points (4-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block across 17 minutes during Wednesday's 119-108 win over the Pelicans. Ware scored a career-high 10 points, delivering another encouraging performance. After playing a sporadic role to begin the season, Ware appears to have assumed the role of backup center behind Bam Adebayo. After Thomas Bryant was traded to Indiana, Ware shifted up in the rotation, an indication that the coaching staff has enough trust to get him out there on a regular basis.
