Edwards isn't in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Suns, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports. Kevin Huerter will replace Edwards in the starting lineup Friday after missing the previous three games with a knee injury. Edwards is averaging 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in 15.0 minutes across his eight games coming off the bench this season.... See More ... See Less

Kings' Kessler Edwards: Will start for injured Huerter
Edwards will start Saturday's matchup against the Wizards, Gary Gerould of the Kings Radio Network reports. With Kevin Huerter (knee) missing his first game since Jan. 13, Edwards will step into the starting lineup. He's been a regular part of the rotation over the past four games, averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 21.5 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Kessler Edwards: Enters rotation, makes impact
Edwards played 26 minutes in Saturday's 128-119 win over the Suns, finishing with 12 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal in 26 minutes. After having failed to get off the bench in either of the Kings' previous two contests, Edwards was a surprise entry into the rotation Saturday as a replacement for Terence Davis, who didn't see the floor in a coach's decision. The second-year forward was a plus-18 during his time on the court and played over struggling starter Keegan Murray (15 minutes) down the stretch. Though a 25-plus-minute role won't be guaranteed for Edwards moving forward, expect him to stick in the rotation for at least one more game after his strong showing Saturday.... See More ... Kings' Kessler Edwards: Headed to Sacramento
The Nets agreed to deal Edwards and cash to the Kings on Tuesday in exchange for the draft rights to David Michineau, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Edwards still has to technically approve the trade, but that's expected to be the case. Ultimately, moving Edwards is a salary- and luxury tax-saving measure by the Nets. According to Wojnarowski, the Kings are expected to give Edwards run in the G League with the Stockton Kings, though there's always a chance he's re-routed before Thursday's deadline. Edwards has played just 79 NBA minutes this season, totaling 15 points, 14 rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Recalled by Brooklyn
Edwards was recalled from the G League's Long Island Nets on Friday, Chris Milholen of NetsDaily.com reports. Edwards has been shuffled between Long Island and Brooklyn recently, but he'll rejoin the parent club ahead of Saturday's game against Washington. He hasn't appeared in a game with the parent club since Dec. 10, so it seems unlikely he'll get much playing time if he remains with the team for Saturday's matchup.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Back to G League
Brooklyn assigned Edwards to the G League's Long Island Nets on Wednesday. Edwards was with the NBA squad for only one day and presumably just practiced with the team before heading back to the G League. Across 22 appearances with Long Island, the 22-year-old is averaging 14.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 32.4 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Recalled by Nets
The Nets summoned Edwards from the team's G League Long Island affiliate Tuesday, Christian Arnold of Associated Press reports. Edwards was sent to the affiliate Monday, likely in an attempt to knock some rust off in game action since he hasn't appeared in an NBA game since Dec. 10. The second-year guard has just 13 games under his belt with the Nets and will likely see the vast majority of his playing time in the G League.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Assigned to G League
Brooklyn assigned Edwards to the G League's Long Island Nets on Monday. Edwards didn't appear in any games for Brooklyn during his latest NBA stint and will head to the G League to presumably get some extended run in Long Island's matchup against the Wisconsin Herd on Monday. Across 22 G League appearances this year, the 22-year-old is averaging 14.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 32.4 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Remains key source of scoring
Edwards finished with 25 points (9-16 FG, 7-12 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one block in 32 minutes Wednesday against Capital City. Edwards was deadly from beyond the arc, scoring 21 of his 25 points from downtown. He's shooting 37.5 percent from three and 47.9 percent from the field over 12 regular-season matchups.... Nets' Kessler Edwards: Posts double-double in win
Edwards totaled 15 points (5-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 38 minutes Monday against Grand Rapids. Edwards led his team in rebounds and secured 11 of his 13 boards on the defensive glass. He also played a team-high 38 minutes. Edwards has made his presence known on the defensive end of late, as he's swatted away two shots in back-to-back contests while also collecting a steal in each appearance.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Back to G League
The Nets assigned Edwards to the G League's Long Island Nets on Monday, Chris Milholen of NetsDaily.com reports. Edwards was recalled to the NBA club ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Thunder, but the second-year forward didn't see the court in a 112-102 loss. He'll head back to the G League and presumably see extended run during Long Island's matchup against Grand Rapids on Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Back to NBA
The Nets recalled Edwards to the NBA club from the G League on Sunday, Chris Milholen of NetsDaily.com reports. Edwards and Day'Ron Sharpe have both been recalled and will be available for Sunday's matchup against Oklahoma City. Across 13 NBA appearances (one start), Edwards is averaging 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds in 5.7 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Back to G League
The Nets assigned Edwards to the G League's Long Island Nets on Friday, Christian Arnold of the Associated Press reports. Edwards didn't make an appearance during Thursday's loss to Boston and will head back to the G League on Friday. The 22-year-old has scored at least 18 points in five straight games with Long Island, including a 36-point, 10-rebound double-double against the 905 on Jan. 4.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Recalled to NBA club
Edwards was recalled from the G League's Long Island Nets on Wednesday, Chris Milholen of NetsDaily.com reports. Edwards recently exploded for a 36-point, 10-rebound double-double in the G League and has been rewarded with a call-up to the NBA club. Alondes Williams, David Duke and Day'Ron Sharpe are also with the Nets for Thursday's matchup against the Celtics as Brooklyn looks to add depth ahead of its first game without Kevin Durant (knee).... Nets' Kessler Edwards: Erupts for 36 points
Edwards finished with 36 points (14-23 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, three steals and four blocks in 39 minutes Wednesday against Raptors 905. Edwards did it all in this one, scoring 15 of his 36 points from beyond the arc while also contributing on the defensive end with three steals and four blocks. The 22-year-old has scored in double figures in four of his first five appearances of the regular season, but Wednesday's outburst was his best showing by far.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Average showing in win
Edwards scored 13 points (6-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and added eight rebounds in 33 minutes Tuesday against Greensboro. Edwards couldn't get his shot working from beyond the arc, but he redeemed himself by knocking down 54.5 percent of his shots from inside the three-point line. He also had a nice night on the glass, securing seven of his eight rebounds on the defensive end.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Poor shooting in loss
Edwards tallied eight points (4-15 FG, 0-7 3Pt), seven rebounds, six steals and one block in 31 minutes Monday against the Go-Go. Edwards couldn't buy a shot from beyond the arc, but he made an impact on the defensive end with six steals. Despite failing to reach double figures Monday, he's scored in double digits in five of his first six matchups of the 2022-23 campaign with Long Island.... See More ... See Less -

Edwards was assigned to the G League's Long Island Nets on Sunday. Kessler started for Brooklyn during Saturday's win over the Pacers, and he totaled six points, nine rebounds and an assist in 35 minutes. However, he didn't see much playing time for the parent club prior to Saturday's matchup and will likely have a more consistent role in the G League.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Kessler Edwards: Set to start Saturday
Edwards is in the starting five for Saturday's game against Indiana, Alec Sturm of NetsDaily.com reports.
