  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Upgraded from two-way deal

Champagnie (thumb) agreed Thursday with the Raptors on a two-year contract for the league minimum, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. According to Smith, Champagnie will be upgraded from the two-way deal he played under as a rookie in 2021-22 to a new contract that includes a partial guarantee for 2022-23 and no guarantee for 2023-24. Champagnie's stint in the Las Vegas Summer League was recently cut short due to a small left thumb fracture, but the injury probably isn't anything that will affect his availability for training camp. In 36 games for the Raptors last season, Champagnie averaged 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per contest.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Done for Summer League

Champagnie has suffered a small fracture in his left thumb and will miss the remainder of Summer League, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports. Champagnie appeared in 36 games for the Raptors last season but averaged just 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds over 7.8 minutes in his runs with the club. He will likely fill a similar role in 2022-23 as a shuttle player between the NBA and the G League.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Dealing with thumb injury

Champagnie is in a brace following a thumb injury and is out for Saturday's Summer League game against the 76ers, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports. Koreen speculates that Champagnie will likely be out over the next few days, so it's possible he doesn't play in the remainder of Summer League. There's nothing to indicate he won't be ready for training camp.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Scores 36 points in playoff defeat

Champagnie dropped 36 points (13-27 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, an assist and a steal across 36 minutes in Sunday's 143-139 loss to the Delaware Blue Coats in the Eastern Conference Final. Champagnie led his team in points Sunday but it wasn't enough to down the Blue Coats and advance to the G League Finals. The rookie out of Pittsburgh averaged 21.1 points, 8.3 rebounds 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks per game in 14 appearances for 905, shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from deep.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Leads team in scoring against Go-Go

Champagnie registered 29 points (10-21 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds and three steals across 39 minutes in Thursday's 131-126 victory over the Capital City Go-Go in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Champagnie led his G League team to a playoff win Thursday, scoring well as always but also chipping in defensively with a few takeaways. He's averaging a well-rounded 21.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks per game for 905 this season heading into the Conference Final against either Delaware or Motor City on Sunday.

Champagnie led his team in points and rebounds as the regular season came to a close Saturday. He leads 905 with 21.1 points per game this season (among players with at least eight appearances), and he's shooting 48.9 percent from the floor and 40.9 percent from deep.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Leads team in scoring

Champagnie put up 22 points (8-15 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven assists, a block and a steal across 35 minutes in Thursday's 114-99 loss to the Long Island Nets. Champagnie had a solid performance individually against the Nets, but his team couldn't pick up the win Thursday. He's been a consistent scorer in the G League with 20.6 points per game, but he also contributes elsewhere with 7.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals as well.

Champagnie logged 23 points (8-18 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, two steals and a block across 42 minutes in Tuesday's 111-103 victory over the Grand Rapids Gold. Champagnie came close to a double-double against the Gold even though he struggled shooting from deep (28.6 percent) Tuesday. He's averaging 20.5 points per game this season for 905, shooting 48.7 percent from the floor and 36.8 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Near double-double against Herd

Champagnie recorded 19 points (7-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-6 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and two steals across 40 minutes in Wednesday's 130-115 victory over the Wisconsin Herd. Champagnie had a well-rounded game in Wednesday's win against Wisconsin, but he did struggle a bit from three-point range. He's shooting 32 percent from deep this season for 905, yet he's still taking five shots from beyond the arc per game.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Efficient double-double in G League

Champagnie tallied 21 points (9-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 35 minutes in Saturday's 112-109 victory over the Lakeland Magic. Champagnie returned to the G League on Saturday and shot 64.3 percent from the field en route to a double-double against the Magic. He's averaging 17.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for 905 this season.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Double-double against Skyhawks

Champagnie had one of 905's four double-doubles Wednesday, and he led his team in blocks against College Park as well. He's shooting 5.3 three-pointers per game in the G League despite making just 31.3 percent of those shots, but he's still shooting a solid 42.5 percent from the field overall this season.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Leads scoring against Greensboro

Champagnie posted 25 points (11-21 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist, three blocks and a steal across 39 minutes in Wednesday's 100-98 victory over the Greensboro Swarm. Champagnie led 905 in scoring in what was a crucial performance in his side's tight win Wednesday. He struggled a bit from three-point range and had four turnovers, but his production on offense made the difference versus the Swarm. He's averaging 16.8 points per game in his five regular season appearances in the G League this campaign.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Returns from G League

Toronto recalled Champagnie from the G League's Raptors 905 on Thursday, Blake Murphy of The Athletic reports. Champagnie and fellow rookie Dalano Banton will rejoin the NBA team as it opens its second-half schedule with a game Friday in Charlotte. Prior to the All-Star break, Champagnie had been firmly outside of head coach Nick Nurse's rotation, appearing in only two of Toronto's first nine games of February while logging eight minutes in total.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Records double-double

Champagnie logged 24 points (8-17 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 41 minutes during Tuesday's 110-99 win over the Cleveland Charge. Champagnie was the Raptors 905 team's primary point and rebound logger Tuesday. Considering they do not have a clear-cut scoring option or traditional center starting games alongside him, he could supply high values in both statistical categories.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Plays against Blue Coats

Champagnie logged 15 points (6-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 26 minutes during Saturday's 126-121 loss to the Delaware Blue Coats. The Toronto Raptors assigned Champagnie to their G League team earlier this month after playing eight minutes across the NBA Raptors' previous six games. However, Champagnie should be a productive starter -- like he was Saturday -- for their G League team while he remains with the club.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Ejected vs. Hornets

Champagnie was ejected during Tuesday's game against the Hornets. He exited with two rebounds and one assist in four minutes. Champagnie and opponent P.J. Washington got in a shoving match, resulting in both players earning ejections. It doesn't seem likely that either player will be served a suspension, but fantasy managers should be prepared if the league or the team decides discipline is needed.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Grabs season-high 12 rebounds

Champagnie had three points (1-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), 12 rebounds, one assist and one block across 30 minutes during Saturday's 103-96 win over the Bucks. Champagnie didn't do much in the scoring column, but he exploded with the best rebounding total of his NBA career. The 6-6 swingman has to fight for time on this talented roster and has limited fantasy impact, but he's one injury or COVID-19 case away from more time on the floor.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Back Friday

Champagnie (COVID-19) is available for Friday's contest against the Clippers, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports. The forward missed the team's last two contests due to being placed in the health and safety protocols but will be available for Friday's matchup against the Clippers. However, Champagnie is not trustworthy in fantasy lineups in all formats.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Placed in protocols

Champagnie (illness) wasn't available for Sunday's 144-99 loss to the Cavaliers after he was placed in the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports. Before the Raptors had their most recent game Wednesday against the Bulls postponed due to a lack of available players, Champagnie had been ruled out with a non-COVID-19 related illness. Just three days later, he joined Isaac Bonga and Khem Birch (knee) in the health and safety protocols, a sign Champagnie likely tested positive for the virus. Toronto had the league-minimum eight available players for Sunday's contest, and based on the timing of his entry into the protocols, Champagnie doesn't look like he'll be ready to provide the Raptors with reinforcement for Tuesday's showdown with the 76ers.

  • Raptors' Justin Champagnie: Thrives in blowout win

Champagnie totaled 10 points (4-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one block and one steal over 25 minutes during Monday's 124-101 win over the Kings. The Raptors were well in control of the game for most of the second half, so Champagnie was able to see extended run along with several other bench players. He established new season highs in points and minutes and notched his first steal of the season. Even so, Champagnie typically only sees the floor in blowout situations, so he's not much of a consideration in most season-long fantasy leagues.
