Mathurin shined off the Pacers bench in Wednesday's high-scoring overtime battle, finding success offensively while finishing second on the team in scoring and two points short of the 30-point mark. Mathurin has been a key offensive contribute for Indiana as of late, posting his sixth outing of the season with 25 or more points and his second such performance coming off the bench.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Slides to bench Tuesday
Rotowire
Mathurin will come off the bench in Tuesday's game against the Knicks, Alex Golden of the 'Setting the Pace' podcast reports.
Aaron Nesmith will supplant Mathurin in the starting five Tuesday. The 22-year-old hasn't joined the second unit since Oct. 30, and over his last 10 outings, he has averaged 15.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 three-pointers across 26.4 minutes per game. Mathurin has shot 51.8 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from three-point range in that 10-game span.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Makes up for early accident
Rotowire
Mathurin racked up 25 points (8-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-12 FT), six rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes during Thursday's 119-112 win over the Clippers.
Early on, it looked like Mathurin might end up being the goat in an Indiana loss -- he accidentally hit Myles Turner (concussion) in the face while going for a rebound just six minutes into the game, and the center never returned to the court. In part because of that turmoil, the Pacers found themselves staring at a 42-22 deficit after the first frame, but Mathurin stepped up in a big way and helped fuel a big comeback. It was the third-year guard's best scoring effort since he hung 25 on the Bucks on New Year's Eve and just the second time he's produced 20 or more points in his last seven appearances, a stretch in which he's failed to play 30 minutes in any contest. The slight workload decline has led to Mathurin averaging 15.4 points, 4.1 boards, 1.1 assists and 1.1 threes in 25.0 minutes despite shooting 54.8 percent from the floor.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Ruled out Wednesday
Rotowire
Mathurin (illness) is out for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
Mathurin was a late addition to Indiana's injury report with an illness, and he'll join Andrew Nembhard (back) on the sidelines Wednesday. With a vacated spot in the Pacers' starting lineup, Aaron Nesmith stands out as the most likely candidate to replace Mathurin in the first unit while Ben Sheppard likely also handles a more prominent role against Detroit.
Mathurin is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pistons due to an illness.
Following a 13-point performance in Saturday's blowout win against the Spurs in France, Mathurin apparently fell ill at some point after the Pacers returned to the United States. The 22-year-old is having another solid season with the Pacers, averaging 16.4 points and a career-high 5.9 rebounds per game.

Rotowire
Mathurin is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the 76ers, Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Mathurin missed the Pacers' 111-100 win over the Pistons on Thursday after receiving a one-game suspension. Still, he'll recover his starting role in this matchup, sending Aaron Nesmith to the second unit. Mathurin is averaging 16.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game when deployed as a starter this season.

Mathurin was ejected from Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers after being assessed his second technical foul, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
After getting a technical foul for hanging on the rim earlier in the contest, Mathurin was tossed from the game for arguing a foul call during the fourth quarter. His night ends with 19 points (8-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 31 minutes. Jarace Walker is filling in for Mathurin in the fourth period.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Double-double in Friday's win
Rotowire
Mathurin finished with 21 points (9-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt), 10 rebounds and two assists across 34 minutes during Friday's 108-96 victory over the Warriors.
The double-double was Mathurin's seventh of the season and second in the last four games, while the 25 points represented his highest total since he dropped 28 on the Raptors on Nov. 18. The third-year wing is still prone to quiet nights -- he scored just eight points Wednesday against the Bulls -- but he's scored in double digits in nine of the last 10 contests, averaging 16.1 points, 5.9 boards, 2.3 assists and 1.6 threes over that stretch.
Mathurin posted 20 points (8-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 31 minutes during Monday's 113-99 win over the Nets.
Mathurin has reached the 20-point mark for the second time across his last four games, and he seems to be trending in the right direction after posting subpar numbers throughout December. He's averaging 16.5 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor over his last eight games, and the third-year forward should remain a reliable offensive weapon as long as he remains in a starting role.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Logs double-double in win
Rotowire
Mathurin scored 13 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), grabbed 10 boards and dished four assists in 34 minutes of play during the 126-108 win over the Suns.
The well-rounded display marked Mathurin's seventh double-double of the season and first since the end of November. Although he didn't score in bunches as he's always a threat to do, it was encouraging to see him dish the rock a bit more, tying his season-high assists mark.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Struggles with shot
Rotowire
Mathurin registered 12 points (5-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and two assists over 36 minutes during Monday's 111-105 victory over the Warriors.
Despite reaching double figures, Mathurin's overall stat line was lacking. He's struggled to produce peripheral stats this season, posting averages of 12.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 three-pointers in 33.9 minutes across 10 December contests. He also shot just 37.9 percent from the field and 20.5 percent from beyond the arc in that span.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Scores in double figures
Rotowire
Mathurin provided 11 points (4-11 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one steal over 34 minutes during Sunday's 113-109 loss to the Hornets.
Mathurin suffered through a tough shooting night on the offensive end, but he's now scored in double digits in nine of the last 10 appearances. The 22-year-old continues to show improvement this season, averaging a career-high 17.8 points on 47.1 shooting from the field through his first 25 games of the 2024-25 campaign.
Mathurin finished Monday's 130-119 loss to Toronto with 28 points (10-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 32 minutes.
A strong argument could be made to say Mathurin has been the Pacers' best offensive player since the beginning of November. The third-year guard has scored in double digits in all but one of his nine November outings and reached the 20-point mark six times in his last seven in that span. As a result, Mathurin is averaging a strong 21.7 points per game since the beginning of the month.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Continues to produce as starter
Rotowire
Mathurin logged 22 points (8-16 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals across 36 minutes during Friday's 103-83 loss to the Hornets.
Mathurin got promoted to the starting lineup four games ago following his 30-point performance in the win over the Celtics on Oct. 30, and he's been outstanding while handling more responsibility on offense. Mathurin is averaging 19.3 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the field as a starter, and he's expected to remain in that role until Aaron Nesmith (ankle) is ready to return.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Shines from line in double-double
Rotowire
Mathurin ended Wednesday's 118-111 win over Orlando with 20 points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 13-14 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 34 minutes.
Mathurin helped lead the way for Indiana in a winning effort, leading all players in Wednesday's contest in free-throws made while pacing the team in points and rebounds in a double-double performance. Mathurin set a season high in free throws, the second time he has surpassed the double-digit mark from the line. Mathurin has recorded a double-double in two outings this year, and he has notched at least 15 points in four straight contests.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Starts again Monday
Rotowire
Mathurin dropped 16 points (7-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and a steal across 32 minutes in Monday's 134-127 win over the Mavericks.
Monday's game also marked Mathurin's second consecutive start, and he will likely remain in the starting lineup until Aaron Nesmith (ankle) returns. In his last three games, Mathurin has averaged 21.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 0.3 steals over 35.7 minutes, so it is possible his offensive production will increase in extended minutes.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Scores 20 points off bench
Rotowire
Mathurin finished Friday's 123-98 loss to New York with 20 points (8-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 24 minutes.
Mathurin gave the Pacers a much-needed offensive boost off the bench, leading the team in scoring in a blowout 25-point loss against New York. It's only been two games, but it's clear the shoulder issues that limited Mathurin to just 59 regular-season appearances in 2023-24 are a thing of the past. He's scored 19 points in his first two outings of the new campaign and should continue to play a prominent role offensively despite his bench status, meaning he's also a player worth targeting in most fantasy formats.

Pacers' Bennedict Mathurin: Moves back to bench role
Rotowire
Mathurin is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason matchup against the Hornets.
Mathurin is expected to open the 2024-25 regular season as a bench option, and given that the Pacers are using what looks like their most likely starting unit for Opening Night, it makes sense to see him retreat to the bench. Mathurin should see regular minutes in this contest, though.
