Kurucs, prior to being ejected in the fourth quarter, produced 14 points (4-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal across 15 minutes during Tuesday's 122-100 Game 5 loss against the 76ers.
Some garbage time pushing and shoving resulted in Kurucs being ejected, and his season will end early. Considering he was drafted with the 40th overall pick this past summer, Kurucs had a relatively nice season. In 63 appearances, he posted 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds on 45.0 percent shooting while picking up 49 starts.
Kurucs will come off the bench for Saturday's Game 4 against the 76ers, Marc Narducci of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Coach Kenny Atkinson will give Jared Dudley the nod instead. Kurucs has scored just 11 points in the series.
Kurucs contributed 15 points (5-15 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, two steals and an assist across 27 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Heat.
Kurucs finished one rebound shy of his third double-double of the season. The Latvian forward's in the midst of a bit of an offensive lull heading into the playoffs, having scored in double-digits just three times in his past 13 games. That said, Kurucs has carved out a solid role in his rookie season, averaging 8.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in 20.4 minutes across 62 contests, including 45 starts.
Kurucs finished Saturday's win with a modest stat line, as has been the case with him frequently over the last few weeks. In his previous 14 starts, Kurucs has averaged just 7.9 points and 4.1 rebounds in 20.8 minutes.
Kurucs (knee) is available to play Monday against Milwaukee, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Kurucs is expected to start Monday night's matchup after being given the green light. He was initially tagged as doubtful due to a right knee bruise, but he appears to have returned to health sooner than Brooklyn anticipated. Kurucs' contributions have been limited at best over his previous five starts, averaging 3.2 points and 3.8 rebounds.
