Tucker signed a two-way contract with the 76ers on Friday.
Tucker officially inked a deal with the 76ers and will likely join the team's G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, in the Orlando bubble this year. He appeared in 20 games for the Jazz last season, averaging 3.1 points over 8.1 minutes per contest.
Tucker is expected to sign a two-way contract with the 76ers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Tucker may have to pass health and safety protocols before everything is made official. In signing a two-way deal, he's expected to join the 76ers' G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, in the G League's Orlando bubble.
Tucker was waived by the Clippers on Friday, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
Tucker signed an Exhibit 10 contract with Los Angeles earlier this month, but won't get a chance to suit for the NBA regular season roster. Tucker thrived in the G League last season, averaging 23.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists across 33.4 minutes.
Tucker was released by the Cavaliers on Saturday, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports.
The Cavaliers also got a second-round pick when trading for Tucker, so it appears that's really what they were after. Tucker spent considerable time in the G League between the Wisconsin Herd and the Salt Lake City Stars last season, altogether averaging 23.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 33.4 minutes. There's a strong chance he sees G League action again this season.
Tucker, along with a second-round pick, was traded from the Jazz to the Cavaliers in exchange for cash Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Tucker appeared in 20 games for the Jazz as a rookie last season, totaling 62 points, 20 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in 161 minutes. He spent considerable time in the G League between the Wisconsin Herd and the Salt Lake City Starts, altogether averaging 23.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 33.4 minutes. The Cavaliers will take a chance on him as a development project.
Tucker scored 18 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT) while adding two rebounds and an assist in 24 minutes off the bench during Thursday's 118-112 win over the Spurs.
The Jazz had nothing to play for, so their key players were either out of action entirely or received very light workloads. The result was a balanced attack that saw eight different players score in double digits, with Tucker leading the way. The 22-year-old rookie barely got onto the court before play was suspended in March, but he emerged as a potentially useful reserve in Orlando, scoring 35 points over the last two games of the regular season. However, with a few days for players like Mike Conley (knee) to rest and heal up before Utah's first playoff game against the Nuggets on Monday, Tucker will likely find himself back at the end of the bench.
Tucker was recalled by the Jazz ahead of Monday's tilt with Toronto.
Tucker will presumably serve as simple rotational depth, as the Jazz's backcourt is mostly healthy. Across 14 appearances at the NBA level, the rookie guard is averaging 1.4 points in 5.6 minutes per game.
Tucker scored 22 points (7-19 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and corralled eight rebounds in a G League win over South Bay on Monday.
In his first G League action of the season, Tucker tied for the team lead in shot attempts and placed second in scoring. How long the undrafted rookie remains with the Stars remains to be the seen, but a G League stint should offer valuable playing time, as Tucker is averaging only 5.6 minutes of action through 14 games with the Jazz this season.
Tucker (coach's decision) wasn't included in the rotation Sunday in the Jazz's 114-113 win over the Rockets.
Seven of the Jazz's last eight games have been decided by single digits, so Tucker has been limited to just three minutes of playing time off the bench during that stretch. With the Jazz at full health on the wing and at guard, the undrafted rookie out of Little Rock doesn't look like he'll be in store for steady minutes off the bench anytime soon.
