Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith threw all of seven interceptions in 508 pass attempts in 2013. It took him just one game in 2014 to nearly total half that many interceptions.
Smith was picked off three times Sunday against the Titans, as the Chiefs were beat 26-10 at home. Smith, who was missing top receiver Dwayne Bowe due to a suspension, completed 19 of 35 passes for one touchdown. He also rushed for a team-high 36 yards on six carries.
Smith's lone touchdown of the afternoon came late in the game, as Tennessee was already leading 23-3. Smith connected with tight end Anthony Fasano for a 5-yard touchdown with 10:09 left in the game.
The Chiefs hit the road for a Week 2 showdown with AFC West foe Denver.
