Browns to cut Karlos Dansby, who's excited to play for a good team
The veteran linebacker is looking for a shot at 'that ring' after being released by the Browns.
The faces may change but the results -- namely, losing -- remain the same in Cleveland. But maybe this year is different. The Browns are again in full-on rebuilding mode, which means there will be a lot of turnover between now and training camp.
The latest roster casualty is veteran linebacker Karlos Dansby, who told Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot on Wednesday that he is (mercifully) being released. Next up for Dansby is finding a better gig, which sounds easy enough when you consider what he's endured in two seasons with the Browns.

The implication: The Bengals need linebackers, and Dansby, even though he's 34 years old, is a perfect fit for the defending AFC North champions.
"Let's go get that ring," Dansby told Cleveland.com, adding that he harbors no ill will towards the Browns for granting him his freedom.
"I appreciated it because it gives me a chance to win. Let's go get that ring! ... This is an opportunity to go play for a Super Bowl contender," he said. "I'm excited. I'm getting goosebumps."

Meanwhile, Dansby thinks the Browns aren't done cleaning house; he warned Donte Whitner to "be ready for anything," though he expects 2014 first-round pick Justin Gilbert, who is arguably a bigger bust than Johnny Manziel through two seasons, to break out in 2016. Dansby adds that Manziel can have a successful NFL career too.
In light of Gilbert getting buried on the depth chart, Manziel getting released, and the coaching staff and front office getting dumped ... well, we'll reserve judgment on Dansby's personnel skills.
