The Josh Freeman era in Tampa Bay has come to an end. The Buccaneers announced Thursday they released the 2009 first-round pick, who lost his starting job to rookie Mike Glennon last week.
"We made the decision today to release Josh Freeman," Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said in a press release. "We appreciate his efforts over the past five seasons, but we felt this was in the best interests of both Josh and the Buccaneers."
