Why the Rams can cover

While the Rams are 2-4 against the spread on the road, they're 4-2 straight-up and have found success in Arizona in recent years. Los Angeles has won five straight road contests against the Cardinals, who have suffered both of their losses this year at State Farm Field. The visitors have the offensive potential to keep pace with the favorites.

Scoring hasn't been a problem for Los Angeles over the last two weeks. While the Rams scored just 10 points in their first matchup following Robert Woods' season-ending knee injury, they've averaged 32.5 points per game since. Their top-five scoring offense has totaled 28 points per contest in 2021, and its third-ranked passing attack had plenty to do with that. Only the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have thrown more touchdown passes. Even the Cardinals' well-rounded defense could have a tough time slowing the Rams down when they get rolling.

Why Cardinals can cover

Arizona has been one of this year's most consistent teams against the spread. The Cardinals have covered nine times in 12 games, and only the Green Bay Packers have been more reliable. Their opponents haven't thrived on the road this year and are just 2-4 against the spread away from home.

Arizona boasts the NFL's third-ranked scoring offense despite not fielding a top-10 passing or rushing attack. The Cardinals average 28.6 points per game and excel at finishing drives on the ground. Only the Indianapolis Colts can top the Cardinals'' total of 19 rushing touchdowns. James Conner has proved to be an effective goal-line back with 12 rushing scores, and Kyler Murray has used his speed to tally five rushing scores of his own.
