  • Cardinals' James Conner: Season-low 11 attempts

Conner rushed 11 times for 52 yards while adding a four-yard reception off of two targets in Sunday's 35-16 loss to San Francisco.

The 49ers took a quick 21-3 lead in this contest, forcing the Cardinals to abandon the running element from its gameplan in the second half. Conner performed well on an individual basis by averaging 4.7 yards on his 11 attempts, which actually dropped his season average to a healthy 5.1 yards per carry through four games. No other Cardinal running back received more than one carry in Sunday's loss, confirming Conner's firm grasp of the starting job as the team prepares to face Cincinnati next Sunday.

  • Cardinals' James Conner: Logs full practice Thursday

Conner (back) practiced in full Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

The back issue that limited Conner during Wednesday's session clearly is a minor concern after he returned to all activity one day later. Meanwhile, Keaontay Ingram, one of the Cardinals' reserve running backs, showed up on Thursday's practice report as limited due to a neck injury. If Ingram isn't 100 percent or even out Sunday at San Francisco, Conner could handle a bit more work than usual out of Arizona's backfield.

  • Cardinals' James Conner: Tending to back injury

Conner practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday due to a back injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

The oft-injured running back is dealing with his second health concern of the season after enduring some practice limitations during Week 2 prep due to a calf issue. His status will be one to watch closely as the week goes on, but so long as Conner is a full practice participant by Friday, he'll have a good chance at approaching Sunday's game in San Francisco without an injury designation. Through three games, Conner has easily paced the Cardinals backfield to the tune of 58 touches for 292 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.

  • Cardinals' James Conner: Finds end zone in Week 3 win

Conner carried the ball 14 times for 98 yards and a touchdown and caught both his targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 28-16 win over the Cowboys.

The former Steeler led a Cardinals rushing attack that piled up 222 yards and two scores, including Conner's own five-yard TD dash in the first quarter that kick-started the upset victory. The veteran back has produced 204 rushing yards and two touchdowns over the last two games, but that TD streak could come to an abrupt end in Week 4 against a tough 49ers defense.
