The New York Giants are starting a new chapter in 2022, with a new general manager in Joe Schoen and a new head coach in Brian Daboll. The Giants will start the same quarterback in Daniel Jones, but he will have to prove to this new regime that he's the man they want under center for the future.

Jones had his 2021 season derailed by a neck injury suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. The Giants were initially hopeful about his status moving forward, but he did not suit up again for the rest of the season. On Monday, Jones was asked about his neck injury being a concern moving forward. His response made it seem as though he's already very much past it.

"Yeah, I'll be cleared and ready to go," Jones said, via ESPN.

In 11 games last season, Jones went 4-7 and threw for 2,428 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. While he completed a career-high 64.3% of his passes and registered a career-low 1.9% interception rate, Jones did not do anything to prove he's a franchise quarterback. It's true that New York suffered through an injury-plagued season, but not one wide receiver caught more than two touchdowns all season. Prized free-agent pickup Kenny Golladay caught just 37 passes for 521 yards and zero scores in 14 games played.

Daboll had a hand in aiding Josh Allen as he quickly ascended the NFL QB power rankings, and the Giants hired him to do the same with Jones. The former No. 6 overall pick is apparently now healthy, and doesn't anticipate his 2021 health issues carrying into 2022.
