Former Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball plead guilty to domestic abuse in a case stemming from an incident in a Madison, Wisc., hotel. Ball was ordered to serve two consecutive 3o-day sentences in prison and also received probation.

In February, Ball was accused of hitting his girlfriend at a Madison hotel. In a separate incident in March, a different woman claimed Ball threw a phone at her and grabbed her by the neck.

Per News3 in Madison, Ball will get work-release privileges as part of the sentence and got credit of four days time served in jail. Ball was also arrested in April on a bail-jumping charge. The terms of his probation maintained that he could not consume alcohol, but he was spotted at a bar and refused a Breathalyzer when his breath smelled of intoxicants.

Ball was a 2013 second-round pick of the Broncos, for whom he played for two seasons before they cut ties. He caught on with the New England Patriots practice squad late in the season but never saw game duty.

Ball, a Doak Walker Award winner in 2012, set several records during his career at Wisconsin, including for most career and single-season rushing touchdowns.
