Rams to unveil two more new uniforms as alternates and here's a guess on what they could look like
It seems the Rams aren't quite done introducing new uniforms yet
The new uniforms unveiled by the Los Angeles Rams last week apparently won't be the only new ones that the team will be getting. As it turns out, the Rams will actually be unveiling two more new uniforms over the next two years. According to the team's website, the Rams will release one new uniform in both 2021 and 2022. The fact that more new uniforms are coming actually does make some sense, and that's because the Rams only introduced two new jersey tops during their unveiling last week (Teams can have up to four jerseys).
So what might the new uniforms look like? Glad you asked, because I have two guesses, and I've been dying to share both of them.
The first guess here is that the Rams will introduce a gold jersey along with some sort of throwback. I thought for sure that we'd see a gold jersey during the original unveiling since that's been such a prominent part of the Rams' look over the past few years, however, that didn't happen. The team had been wearing gold since 2015 as part of the NFL's Color Rush campaign, but they decided to dump it for the 2020 season.
Here's what the gold uniforms look like.

The gold uniforms have played a prominent part in Rams history, and so it would only make sense that the team brings them back. When the Rams unveiled the gold look in 2015, it was the 70th anniversary of the first time the team had originally worn gold uniforms, which came in 1945. The Rams have made it clear that the redesign was done with the idea of honoring the team's past, so gold would absolutely make sense.
Speaking of the team's past, the other guess on the new uniform is a throwback. Although the Rams don't have a lot of great options for a throwback (because their uniforms haven't changed all that much over the years), they could decide to go with the all white and blue uniforms that they wore in 1972.
One fan has already created a mock-up of that uniform in the team's new style, and it's so awesome that I'm now hoping the Rams take note of it and use the idea.

Of course, even if a throwback happens, fans will be waiting for at least a year before they see it. The first new uniform won't be unveiled until 2021, and the second one won't be coming out until 2022.
NFL teams are allowed to wear two alternate jerseys, and although some teams -- like the Chargers -- took advantage of that this offseason, the Rams did not. As you can see below, the Chargers unveiled four separate jerseys during their uniform announcement in April.

As you can see above, the Chargers love to mix-and-match their uniforms, however, that's one thing the Rams definitely won't be doing in 2020. A team spokesperson told RamsWire that the only uniform combinations that will be worn this season are the ones that were unveiled last week.
Here's a look at each of those combos, along with the tease for the new uniforms that will be coming over the next two seasons.
