Shedeur Sanders will start the remaining games of the 2025 Cleveland Browns season, coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters. Sanders, a rookie fifth-round pick, started Cleveland's last three games after fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel sustained a concussion against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. Cleveland is 1-2 with Sanders starting.

"He has constantly and consistently gotten better in each one of these games," Stefanski said. "He's been been working very hard. I feel good about where his development is heading.  He knows there are always gonna be plays that he could be better and those types of things, but he's very intentional about getting better each and every game he's out there."

Sanders made his season debut against the Ravens following Gabriel's injury. While he struggled in that game (going 4 of 16 passing with an interception), Sanders played well enough the following week to help the Browns' defeat the Raiders in Las Vegas. That game included his first career touchdown pass, a 66-yard completion to Dylan Sampson that stretched the Browns' lead to 24-3 midway through the third quarter.

During the following week's game against the San Francisco 49ers, Sanders completed a season-high 64% of his passes in Cleveland's eventual 26-8 loss. He showcased his best performance yesterday against the Tennessee Titans, throwing for a season-best 364 yards and three touchdowns (with one interception) as Cleveland came up just short against the visiting Tennessee Titans and fellow rookie quarterback Cam Ward

Sanders and his teammates face a challenging schedule during the season's final month. They travel to Chicago this week to face the 9-4 Bears before hosting the 9-4 Bills in Week 16. They finish the season with another home game against the rival Pittsburgh Steelers (who beat them in Pittsburgh back in Week 6) before finishing their season with an away game against Cincinnati.
