Wilson was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Wilson played 21 special-teams snaps during the 49ers' wild-card win over the Cowboys, but he didn't see the field in the divisional round. His absence shouldn't affect San Francisco's plans for the NFC Championship Game.

The Michigan product has already been through this process once this season, so he'll likely rejoin the practice squad and wait for another chance.

• Jaguars' Jarrod Wilson: Good to go Sunday

  Rotowire Dec 6, 2020

Wilson (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against Minnesota. The 26-year-old received the questionable tag after being a limited practice participant all week with the shoulder issue, but it won't prevent him from suiting up Sunday. Wilson played only 66 percent of the defensive snaps last week but should return to his every-down role versus the Vikings.

  Rotowire Oct 18, 2020

Wilson (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's matchup against the Lions, Tad Dickman of the Jaguars' official site reports. The 26-year-old safety had been busy prior to his third-quarter exit, ranking second on the team with five total tackles. • Jaguars' Jarrod Wilson: Contract option exercised

  Rotowire Feb 21, 2020

The Jaguars have exercised their option on Wilson's contract for 2020, John Oehser of the team's official site reports. Wilson's career-best 2019 campaign, in which he notched 79 tackles (57 solo), four defended passes, two interceptions and one forced fumble across 16 regular-season contests, has earned him a clear path to Jacksonville's starting free safety gig for 2020. Now locked up through 2021 and possessing a relatively safe floor in terms of tackles, the 26-year-old could be a worthwhile IDP asset for 2020.

  Rotowire Jan 20, 2019

Wilson signed a three-year contract with the Jaguars on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Wilson was set to be a restricted free agent but the Jaguars opted to ink him to an extension. The 24-year-old filled in at strong safety for the final three games of the season after Ronnie Harrison (knee) landed on injured reserve. Wilson could be an option at free safety for 2019 as well, since the Jaguars are hurting for cap space and veteran Tashaun Gipson is a potential cap casualty.
