Fairbairn converted on 3-for-3 field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 point-after tries in Sunday's 34-30 loss to the Cowboys.
Despite the loss, the Texans offense had it going in Week 4, resulting in Fairbairn finishing with his best performance of the 2026 campaign. His three field goals included a 54-yarder, his second longest kick of the season. With the winless Titans on tap for Week 5, Fairbairn could be in line for another productive showing.

Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Idle against Bolts
Fairbairn did not play in the Texans' 27-7 preseason loss to the Chargers on Thursday.
With Fairbairn on the sidelines, Chris Freeman served as the Texans' kicker Thursday and missed his lone field-goal attempt from 61 yards out. Freeman was then waived by Houston on Friday, leaving Fairbairn as the only kicker on the 90-man roster. Unless the Texans sign another kicker, Fairbairn figures to play in each of the Texans' last two preseason games, with the next taking place this Thursday at home against the Raiders.

Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Extended by Houston
Fairbairn and the Texans have agreed on a two-year deal, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
The contract is a two-year, $13 million extension, which makes Fairbairn the highest-paid kicker in the NFL. The 32-year-old made NFL history during the 2025 season by tying David Akers' 2011 record for most field goals in a single season with 44. This extension will provide key continuity on special teams for the Texans as they chase a fourth consecutive playoff berth in the 2026 season.
