Jets' Ifeadi Odenigbo: Sent to IR
The Jets have placed Odenigbo on injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official website reports.
The nature of Odenigbo's injury remains a mystery at this time, but it is severe enough to land him on IR. He signed with the Jets in late July and was competing for the opportunity to provide depth on New York's defensive line. The journeyman was selected in the seventh-round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Vikings and has since seen stints with the Cardinals, Browns, Colts and most recently the Buccaneers' practice squad.

Jets' Ifeadi Odenigbo: Picked up by Jets
Odenigbo agreed to a deal with the Jets on Friday.
Odenigbo was waived by the Colts prior to the 2022 season concluding. He appeared in 13 games and accumulated 12 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble across 223 defensive snaps prior to being let go. The 29-year-old will now compete for a depth defensive end role during training camp.

Ifeadi Odenigbo: Waived by Indy
Indianaplis waived Odenigbo on Tuesday, JJ Stankevitz of the team's official site reports.
Odenigbo appeared in 13 games for the Colts in 2022 and totaled 12 tackles, 3.5 sacks and one forced fumble across 223 defensive snaps. The 2017 seventh-round pick has played for four different teams in five years, but his only noteworthy campaign came with the Vikings in 2019, when he recorded seven sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.

Odenigbo begins the season as a reserve on the defensive line. Odenigbo was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.
Odenigbo's return comes at an opportune time with the Browns set to take on the Packers on Saturday. Adding to the significance of his return, Jadeveon Clowney has yet to clear COVID protocols, and Myles Garrett is questionable with a groin injury. If neither can return, Odenbigo is likely looking at a starting job on the defensive line and a notable increase in snaps.

Odenigbo and fellow backup defensive end Takkarist McKinley both landed in the NFL's COVID-19 protocols this week.
