  • Browns' Ifeadi Odenigbo: Returns from COVID list

Odenigbo was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.

Odenigbo's return comes at an opportune time with the Browns set to take on the Packers on Saturday. Adding to the significance of his return, Jadeveon Clowney has yet to clear COVID protocols, and Myles Garrett is questionable with a groin injury. If neither can return, Odenbigo is likely looking at a starting job on the defensive line and a notable increase in snaps.

  • Browns' Ifeadi Odenigbo: Placed on COVID-19 list

Odenigbo was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.

Odenigbo and fellow backup defensive end Takkarist McKinley both landed in the NFL's COVID-19 protocols this week. If they are both unavailable for Saturday's contest against the Raiders, then the Browns will likely have to elevate someone from the practice squad to provide depth behind Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney.

  • Browns' Ifeadi Odenigbo: Signs with active roster

The Browns signed Odenigbo to the active roster Tuesday.

  • Ifeadi Odenigbo: Cut by New York

The Giants released Odenigbo on Tuesday, Jordan Raanan of reports.

Following a strong two-year stint with the Vikings, Odenigbo agreed to a one-year deal with the Giants in March. Odenigbo's time with New York is now done, as the Giants already have plenty of depth at linebacker. The 27-year-old will now look to join a new team before the start of the season.

  • Giants' Ifeadi Odenigbo: Joining Big Blue

Odenigbo (chest) agreed Wednesday with the Giants on a one-year deal, according to his agency, Team IFA.

The 26-year-old spent the past two seasons in Minnesota and totaled 35 tackles (16 solo) and 3.5 sacks across 15 games in 2020. Odenigbo should at least work as a rotational edge rusher for the Giants in 2021.

  • Vikings' Ifeadi Odenigbo: Ruled out ahead of Week 17

Odenigbo (chest) has been ruled out for the Vikings' Week 17 matchup against Detroit.

Odenigbo powered through an ankle injury to make his 15th start of the season last Friday during a Christmas afternoon loss to the Saints. The same can't be said for the 26-year-old's chest issue, however, as Sunday he'll be forced to miss his first game over two seasons as a Viking. Odenigbo registered 15 QB hits this season to mark a new career high, though his 3.5 sacks represent a step down from the output of seven he amassed a year ago.
