  • Rams' Damarious Randall: Will join active roster Tuesday

The Rams elevated Randall to their active roster Tuesday. Randall started the season with the Seahawks where he was released early in the year. • Seahawks' Damarious Randall: Managing groin issue

Randall sat out Wednesday's practice with a groin injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Coach Pete Carroll downplayed the injury and said Randall's absence was precautionary. Assuming the injury remains minor, the veteran safety could return to the field within the next few days.

  • Seahawks' Damarious Randall: Lands on COVID list

Randall (foot/undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. The 28-year-old missed the past two games with the foot injury, and he'll be unavailable for Week 17 while on the COVID list. Randall has played a minor defensive role for Seattle this season, so his absence should mostly affect its depth at safety.

  • Damarious Randall: Let go by Raiders

The Raiders will release Randall, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports. Randall, who the Raiders signed to a one-year deal this offseason, ended up not being a good fit with the team's defense, according to Tafur. The 2015 first-rounder, who logged 61 tackles in 11 games with the Browns last season, should catch on soon with another team looking to add safety depth.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Uncertain future

Randall had 61 tackles and 2.5 sacks over 11 games in 2019. Randall was acquired from Green Bay prior to the 2018 season and played well enough that Cleveland agreed to his fifth-year option for 2019. A season later, it looks like the Browns may let the safety head to free agency without a fight. Randall was involved in a couple of incidents: he was ejected Week 11 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Pittsburgh's Diontae Johnson and two weeks later was a healthy scratch for unspecified disciplinary reasons. The former Packer refuted rumors the DNP was because he refused to practice. At this point, with the Browns in the midst of coaching and front office changes, they may just look to move on and start anew wherever they can.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Not playing Sunday

Randall (coach's decision) will not play Sunday against the Steelers, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports. It's unclear as to why Randall will be held out Sunday other than Jackson's report, which indicated the reason was not injury related. Look for Sheldrick Redwine and J.T. Hassell to fill in at safety with Eric Murray (knee) already ruled out.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Officially questionable

Randall (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Bills, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Randall missed Cleveland's last two contests due to a lingering hamstring injury, but he appears to have a chance to shake the issue and suit up Week 10. The starting safety's presence would be a notable boost for Cleveland's secondary, with Eric Murray (knee) ruled out and Jermaine Whitehead no longer on the 53-man roster.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Solid game in loss

Randall had five tackles (four solo) and a sack in Sunday's 32-28 loss to the Seahawks. Randall got to the quarterback for the second time this season, and saw a huge workload, playing in a season-high 81 defensive snaps in the game. With 20 tackles and two sacks through the first four games of the season, he remains a back-end IDP candidate.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Solid in return

Randall made three tackles (two solo) and a sack in Sunday's 40-25 win over the Ravens. The Browns threw together a solid game plan to contain Lamar Jackson, including a safety blitz where Randall took him down for his first career sack. His IDP value remains low with just seven tackles through two games.

Randall (illness) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. • Browns' Damarious Randall: Sits out practice Friday

Randall didn't practice Friday due to a groin injury, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Randall played just seven snaps in Thursday's preseason game against Washington, recording one tackle. He may have injured his groin in the game but that hasn't been confirmed. The severity of the issue isn't clear but the team hasn't expressed concern Randall will miss much time. Sheldrick Redwine and Jermaine Whitehead will figure to see some extra reps as long as Randall is sidelined.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Records four interceptions

Randall finished the 2018 season with a career-high 84 tackles (72 total) and four interceptions. Sent from Green Bay to Cleveland via a trade, Randall's first season with the Browns was a success. He intercepted four passes for the second consecutive season and paced the secondary in tackles. Randall has one year left on his contract and will likely return as the team's starting free safety in 2019.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Ruled out Sunday

Randall (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Randall was optimistic regarding his potential availability for Sunday, but he'll ultimately be kept to the sideline while Briean Boddy-Calhoun figures to see an uptick in usage next to Jabrill Peppers at safety.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Posts 12 tackles Sunday

Randall recorded 12 tackles (11 solo) in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay. Randall's 12 tackles were a career high. He's on pace to shatter his previous marks in tackles for a season, which is due in no small part to his shift from cornerback to safety after he was traded to Cleveland. He'll look to continue his great play against the Steelers in Week 8.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Dealing with heel injury

Randall (heel) did not practice Monday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. The extent of Randall's heel injury has been left up to speculation. There's a real chance Randall won't be ready for Thursday's game, which could leave the Browns without their starting and backup free safeties factoring in that Briean Boddy-Calhoun (hamstring) is also questionable. Whether Randall partakes in practice over the next two days should provide a better indication of his status.

  • Browns' Damarious Randall: Dealing with head and neck injury

Randall was a limited participant at Thursday's practice due to a head and neck injury, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Randalll played all but one defensive snap in Sunday's tie with the Steelers and was not listed on the injury report Wednesday, so he appears to have sustained the injury at practice. Head and neck injuries are often concerning, but thankfully, the 26-year-old was able to participate at practice, even if in limited fashion. Friday's practice session should provide some additional clarity on Randall's Week 2 status.

Randall (knee) returned to practice Monday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Randall has been out since Aug. 21 with a knee injury, but he should be ready to go Sunday versus the Steelers. The 26-year-old defensive back is slated to start alongside fellow safety Jabrill Peppers on what should be an improved secondary.

  • Packers' Damarious Randall: Sent to Cleveland

The Packers traded Randall (hand) to the Browns on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. A first-round pick in the 2015 draft, Randall wasn't able to become the No. 1 cornerback the Packers desired. That said, he still produced when on the field, averaging 3.7 tackles per game and picking off 10 passes in 39 outings. With Jason McCourty and Jamar Taylor under contract for the upcoming campaign, Randall may have to settle for a slot corner role in his new climes.

  • Packers' Damarious Randall: Won't suit up Week 17

Randall (knee) is inactive Sunday against the Lions. With Randall on the shelf, look for the Packers to turn to second-year corner Josh Hawkins to see plenty of work opposite Davon House. Randall will wrap up his third NFL season with a career-best four interceptions to go along with 47 tackles (38 solo). Though he was shaky in coverage at times and battled the injury bug most of the season, Randall flashed enough big-play ability to keep him in consideration for a starting gig in 2018.
