Nixon was claimed by the Jaguars on Thursday, Mike Kils of 9News Denver reports.
Nixon was waived by the Broncos on Wednesday. The 2015 seventh-rounder spent much of last season on Denver's practice squad before being called up and tallying one tackle in two games. He'll look to make the active roster in Jacksonville as a depth corner and special teams player in 2017.

Nixon was waived in order to make room on the roster for fellow cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris. The 2015 seventh-round pick spent the majority of last season on the practice squad for the Broncos before a short stint on the active roster in the latter portion of the year. He tallied just one tackle in two games with the club.

This will represent the start of Nixon's second stint with the Broncos this season as he'd previously spent time on the active roster in November when starting corner Aqib Talib was out with a back issue. This time, Nixon's signing presumably comes as a corresponding move to CB Kayvon Webster's (concussion) placement on injured reserve.

Nixon's promotion is likely due to a currently compromised Broncos defensive backfield. Aqib Talib remains out with a back injury, and veteran Kayvon Webster is questionable for Week 9 with a hamstring injury.
