Dillon's stint with the team lasted just two weeks, and he'll become an unrestricted free agent if he isn't claimed during the current waiver period. In the meantime, his departure should open up more opportunities for Daylen Baldwin, who also just signed with Cleveland earlier in the month.

Dillon takes the spot vacated by fellow wide receiver Isaiah Weston (knee), who was waived with an injury designation. After spending part of the 2021 NFL season on the Giants' practice squad, Dillon most recently played for the USFL's Tampa Bay Bandits in the spring.

Dillon was waived by the Giants last August after being placed on IR with an undisclosed injury. The LSU product spent time on New York's practice squad last season and went on to record 28 receptions for 386 yards and four touchdowns for the USFL's Tampa Bay Bandits this spring, but he's still looking to make his NFL debut.

Dillon is set to sign with the Giants as an undrafted free agent, Brooks Kubena of The Baton Rouge Advocate reports.
Dillon didn't have much production at LSU with 634 receiving yards in 31 career games, but he apparently had a 4.28 40-yard dash at a local pro day in early April. He's likely a longshot to make New York's 53-man roster.
