Gilbert was forced to sit out two games while on the COVID list, but he'll be able to return Sunday against the Falcons. He should resume his role as mostly a contributor on special teams and as extra depth in the secondary.

Gilbert was signed by the Lions off of the Steelers' practice squad Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Gilbert went undrafted out of Duke in 2021 and has yet to play in an NFL game. He will now be added to the Lions' active 53-man roster. Gilbert is the cousin of former pro bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis.
