Taniela Tupou: Waived by Atlanta
The Falcons waived Tupou on Wednesday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.
Tupou appeared in one game for the Falcons in 2017 and was re-signed on a reserve/future contract in the offseason. However, it's apparent the team didn't envision much of a future for Tupou in the organization. If Tupou goes unclaimed off waivers, he would be free to immediately sign with any team outside of Atlanta.

Taniela Tupou: Waived by Atlanta
The Falcons waived Tupou on Thursday, Kelsey Conway of the Falcons' official site reports.
Atlanta had signed Tupou off its practice squad a little over a week ago, with the defensive tackle logging seven defensive snaps in the team's Week 6 loss to the Dolphins. Though the Falcons seem to like Tupou's potential, the organization was willing to part with him after a more experienced backup defensive tackle in Ahtyba Rubin became available in free agency. If Tupou ultimately clears waivers, there's a good chance he'll be re-signed to the Falcons' practice squad.

Falcons' Taniela Tupou: Re-signs with Atlanta
The Falcons signed Tupou off their practice squad Tuesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Tupou will assume the roster spot of defensive end Jack Crawford (biceps), who was placed on injured reserve last week. The 24-year-old defensive tackle, who previously attended training camp with the Falcons before being cut in September, is expected to serve as the primary backup to Dontari Poe.
