• DJ Rogers: Let go from IR

  The Cowboys waived Rogers (knee) from injured reserve Tuesday. Rogers reverted to injured reserve in late August and was set to miss the entire 2026 season as a result. However, now that he's been waived from IR, Rogers will have the opportunity to sign with a team once he's fully recovered from an MCL sprain in his knee that he suffered in training camp. The rookie out of TCU signed with the Cowboys in late April after not being selected by a team during the 2026 NFL Draft.

• DJ Rogers: Waived/injured by Dallas

  The Cowboys waived/injured Rogers (knee) on Sunday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. Rogers suffered an MCL sprain late in the preseason. The tight end will now be subject to waivers. If Rogers goes unclaimed, he will revert to the Cowboys' injured reserve list, where he will spend the entirety of the 2026 regular season unless he is waived with an injury settlement.

• Cowboys' DJ Rogers: Absent with knee injury

  Rogers (knee) did not participate in Tuesday's practice session, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports. The undrafted free agent out of TCU has been working toward a potential roster spot since signing with the team in late August. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end was always a long shot to make the roster with Jake Ferguson, Brevyn Spann-Ford and Luke Schoonmaker holding down the top three roles, but an injury that keeps Rogers out of key competitive reps only hurts his chances of making the 53-man roster.
