  • Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips: Notches three sacks

Phillips registered three sacks, four tackles (three solo) and a pass defensed in the Dolphins' 33-10 win over the Panthers on Sunday. Phillips' pass defensed was the first of his career, while his four tackles bring him to 33 on the season. The three sacks was, of course, the highlight of the day for the rookie, who was drafted by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2021 Draft. Even more impressive, he accomplished the feat on only 49 percent of the defensive snaps played. Now with 6.5 sacks on the season, Phillips will look to top himself Sunday against the Giants.

The 2021 first-rounder should have plenty of time to prepare for the start of the regular season, but it's not clear whether his absence will impact his usage in Saturday's preseason opener against the Bears.
