  • Sean Culkin: Let go by Kansas City

The Chiefs are releasing Culkin on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Culkin was a long shot to make Kansas City's active roster, and he'll now be free to search for depth competition elsewhere in the league. He appeared in one game for the Ravens last season, playing 16 offensive snaps without drawing a target.

  • Ravens' Sean Culkin: Joins roster for Wednesday's game

Culkin has been elevated from the practice squad for Wednesday's game against the Steelers.

Culkin has less experience than fellow practice squad call-ups Luke Willson and Eric Tomlinson, but all three should see game action as the only healthy tight ends on the roster with Mark Andrews still on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

  • Sean Culkin: Nabs practice squad role

The Ravens signed Culkin to the practice squad Tuesday, Daniel Oyefusi of The Baltimore Sun reports.

  • Chargers' Sean Culkin: Shifts to IR

Culkin (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Culkin has already been ruled out for the season, so this is simply a formality. The 25-year-old tight end will look to recover in time for the 2020 season. Virgil Green (groin), Lance Kendricks and Stephen Anderson are the will carry the load until Hunter Henry (knee) is ready to return.

  • Chargers' Sean Culkin: Done for season

Culkin suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday's win over the Dolphins and is done for the season, Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com reports.

The injury woes continue for the Chargers, as Hunter Henry (knee) is in the middle of a lengthy recovery and Virgil Green (groin) was inactive for Week 4's contest. At the time of this report, Lance Kendricks is the only healthy tight end. Expect the team to bring another player aboard before Week 5's game versus the Steelers.

  • Chargers' Sean Culkin: Dealing with injury

Culkin suffered an ankle injury and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

It's unclear how Culkin suffered the injury, but it's serious enough to force him to miss game time. This was a great opptunity for Culkin, especially considering Hunter Henry (knee) and Virgil Green (groin) were both inactive for the game. With Culkin sidelined, Lance Kendricks is the only healthy tight end on the roster for the Chargers.

  • Chargers' Sean Culkin: In line to start at tight end

Culkin is expected to serve as the Chargers' starting tight end Sunday against the Dolphins, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.

With Hunter Henry (knee) and Virgil Green (groin) both inactive for Week 4, Culkin and Lance Kendricks will be the lone healthy tight ends at the Chargers' disposal. Culkin worked ahead of Kendricks in pregame warmups, so he presumably stands to benefit from the larger share of snaps of the two. After Green's early departure in the Week 3 loss to the Texans, Culkin played a season-high 44 snaps but was targeted just once by Philip Rivers. Expect Culkin to mostly fill a blocking role whenever he's on the field Sunday.
