The Giants waived Whitley on Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Whitley played mostly on special teams in the first two games of the regular season, but he was a healthy inactive for Week 3 and Week 4. Should he clear waivers, Whitley will look to catch on with a team in need of depth at linebacker.
