• Isaiah Winstead: Let go by Pittsburgh

  The Steelers waived Winstead on Friday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports. Winstead signed with the Steelers in early August to attempt to compete for a significant role in the team's wide receiver corps. The former UFL Louisville King has not participated for an NFL organization since he was a member of the 2023 49ers' practice squad. Winstead will now be placed on waivers for a duration that extends through Sunday's cutdown day. If the 27-year-old is not claimed, he will become a free agent Monday. If Winstead becomes a free agent, it is unclear if he will attempt to join a practice squad or wait for another chance in the UFL.

• Steelers' Isaiah Winstead: Inks deal with Pittsburgh

  Winstead and the Steelers agreed on a contract Sunday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Winstead is coming off of a strong spring season with the Louisville Kings of the UFL, reeling in 29 of 46 targets for 474 yards and three touchdowns. The wide receiver spent the majority of the 2023 campaign with the 49ers' practice squad, but he has yet to make his NFL debut, and he'll look to compete for a spot on Pittsburgh's practice squad ahead of the 2026 season.

• Isaiah Winstead: Waived by Jets

  Winstead was waived by the Jets on Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports. Winstead was signed by San Francisco as an undrafted free agent last May and spent most of the season on the team's practice squad. He signed with the Jets in early August of this year and got four targets during preseason play but didn't catch any of them.

• Jets' Isaiah Winstead: Signed by Jets

  The Jets signed Winstead on Friday. Winstead bounced in and out of San Francisco's organization throughout the 2023 season but never made it past the practice squad. During a stint with the UFL's Arlington Renegades during their recent season, the 6-foot-4 wide receiver recorded 12 receptions for 175 yards and two touchdowns. The undrafted East Carolina product will have a long way to go to see the field with the Jets, but nothing is out of the question, especially after he gained experience in the UFL.

• Isaiah Winstead: Let go by 49ers

  San Francisco cut Winstead from its practice squad Thursday. San Francisco picked up Winstead after he went undrafted this past offseason, and he's spent the majority of the year with the 49ers' organization. The rookie wideout has yet to appear in his first NFL game after logging 1,083 receiving yards and six touchdowns in his first and only season at East Carolina.
