Seahawks' Alton Robinson: Still not fully recovered
Head coach Pete Carroll said last Monday that Robinson (knee) has had "some issues with his return" and isn't up to full speed yet, Liz Mathews of USA Today reports.
Robinson suffered a knee injury during the preseason that landed him on injured reserve, but the hope was that he'd be back at some point during the regular season. However, he experienced some setbacks in his rehab and was kept on IR for the entire campaign. It's unclear if Robinson will need offseason surgery to correct the issue, but as of now, Seattle is optimistic that he'll be good to go for next season's training camp.

Seahawks' Alton Robinson: Making strides toward return
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll expressed optimism Monday that Robinson (knee) can return this season, saying that the linebacker is "running and moving" but still rehabbing, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Robinson sprained the PCL in his knee during Seattle's final preseason game and hasn't yet been able to take the field during the regular season. While Carroll's update Monday is encouraging, it doesn't suggest that Robinson is particularly close to being able to return to game action. When (and if) he is able to play, Robinson will likely work in a reserve role.

Seahawks' Alton Robinson: Remaining on IR
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Robinson (knee) will not be designated to return to practice Week 9, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
Robinson sprained his PCL in late August and was placed on injured reserve ahead of the Seahawks' season opener. The 24-year-old is now eligible to return to practice at any point this season, though this expected timeline remains unclear. Once he is designated to return, Robinson will have a 21-day window to practice and be restored to the active roster, or else he'll revert to Seattle's IR for the remainder of the 2022 campaign.

Seahawks' Alton Robinson: Likely still out for a few weeks
Robinson (knee) is eligible to return from injured reserve after Week 4, but Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that the linebacker will likely still be out for a few more weeks, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Robinson sprained his PCL during the team's preseason finale and was placed on IR ahead of the season opener. It doesn't sound like he suffered a setback or is in danger of missing the entire season, but it's unclear when he may be activated off IR.

Seahawks' Alton Robinson: Hits IR
Robinson (knee) was placed on the Seahawks' injured reserve Monday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
Robinson was already ruled out for Seattle's season opener against the Broncos on Monday night due to a sprained PCL, though he will now be forced to miss at least the first four weeks of the regular season. When healthy, the 24-year-old is expected to slot into a reserve role in the Seahawks' depleted linebacker corps, so it's likely Tanner Muse could see increased opportunities after being elevated from the team's practice squad Monday, per Crabtree.

Seahawks' Alton Robinson: Will miss Week 1
Robinson (knee) has been ruled out for Monday night's Week 1 clash against the Broncos, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Robinson suffered the injury in the Seahawks' Aug. 26 preseason game against the Cowboys. His absence could leave the Seahawks thin at linebacker with Jordyn Brooks (hamstring) and Boye Mafe (shoulder) carrying questionable tags going into Friday. Robinson will work to be ready to go for Week 2 against the 49ers.

Seahawks' Alton Robinson: Managing sprained PCL
Robinson (knee) suffered a sprained PCL during Friday's preseason loss to the Cowboys, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
In spite of Henderson's early exit Friday, coach Pete Carroll doesn't believe that the defensive end is dealing with a long-term injury. Carroll thinks the 2020 fifth-rounder will have a chance to make it back in time for the Seahawks' season opener against the Broncos on Sept. 12, but his status will likely come into focus based on his participation in practice over the next two weeks.

Seahawks' Alton Robinson: No tackles Thursday
Robinson didn't record a tackle in Thursday's 27-11 preseason loss to the Bears.
Robinson's blank stat line wasn't due to a lack of opportunity; he logged 24 defensive snaps (34 percent). He made more of an impact in the preseason opener, when he managed to post a solo tackle and two quarterback hits. Robinson showed some promise through his first two NFL seasons, as he posted five sacks, 10.0 tackles for loss and seven quarterback hits. However, his opportunities may remain scarce, as the Seahawks have a solid set of pass-rushers including Darrell Taylor, Uchenna Nwosu and Boye Mafe (shoulder).

Robinson produced 22 tackles and four sacks over 14 games during the 2020 season.

The rookie out of Syracuse finished fifth on the team in sacks despite averaging fewer than 25 defensive snaps per game. His role in 2021 will depend on a few factors, most importantly whether Benson Mayowa and Carlos Dunlap re-sign with the Seahawks.
