Breaking News: Jets Hiring Aaron Glenn As Head Coach

Player Outlook
A fluid athlete at six-foot-five and 255 pounds with Hall of Fame NFL lineage, Taylor found his way onto the field and produced 38-414-3 receiving as a true freshman at LSU. Overall, his career receiving metrics are underwhelming, but Taylor's film showed him make important plays as a receiver. He simply was not prioritized as part of an offense regularly featuring star talent at WR. That might change as a Jet. Of course, the target distribution will begin as a buffet where Garrett Wilson can pick out any and everything that he thinks he can stomach. Beyond that, who is stopping Taylor from taking the second-most targets? He'll have to first prove that he can get on the field as a 21-year-old, but the opportunity for a significant role is there. However, Taylor is not worth targeting as anything more than a final-round flyer.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Lands with Jets

The Jets selected Taylor in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 42nd overall. Tight end was a glaring need for the Jets in this draft, and they managed to wait until the second round and still get one of the best prospects at the position. The son of NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, Mason starred at LSU as a three-year starter. He had at least 35 receptions in each of his three years at LSU and had an expanded role in 2024 with 55 grabs for 546 yards and two touchdowns. Taylor did not test at the NFL Scouting Combine but ran a 4.68 40-yard dash at the LSU Pro Day at 6-foot-5 and 246 pounds. He has a fantasy-relevant skill set, and the landing spot couldn't be better for the prospects of early-career production.
