  • Falcons' Avieon Terrell: Won't play against San Francisco

Terrell (back/illness) is inactive against the 49ers on Sunday, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Terrell was already listed as questionable due to a back injury, but he also picked up an illness Saturday, and the combination of ailments are enough for him to miss his first game of the season. A.J. Terrell was activated from injured reserve and figures to start at outside cornerback opposite Mike Hughes, with C.J. Henderson, Mike Ford and Robert Longerbeam all providing depth in the secondary.

  • Falcons' Avieon Terrell: Illness added to injury tag

Terrell (back) is now recovering from an illness ahead of Sunday's game against the 49ers, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Terrell is still listed as questionable, but he now has to overcome an illness as well as a back injury in order to be available for Sunday's home contest. His absence would mean less depth in the secondary for the Falcons, although the team got reinforcements thanks to the activation of A.J. Terrell (groin) from injured reserve.

  • Falcons' Avieon Terrell: Lands in Atlanta

The Falcons selected Terrell in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 48th overall. The younger Terrell reunites with his brother A.J. Terrell, though the two played at Clemson at separate points. Avieon (5-foot-11, 186 pounds) is not as big or athletic as A.J., which is the main reason the latest Terrell fell to the second round. Avieon's athletic testing was possibly affected by a hamstring tweak, which would otherwise explain his 4.67-second pro-day 40. Poor pro day testing or not, Avieon should join A.J. in the starting lineup not long from now.
