  • Cardinals' Elijah Jones: Participating at camp

Jones (ankle) is practicing at the Cardinals' camp this week, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports. Jones was selected in the third round of the 2024 Draft by Arizona but missed his entire rookie season due to an ankle injury he suffered in the preseason last summer. Getting Jones back healthy is a big boost to a secondary that lost Sean Murphy-Bunting to a season-ending knee injury earlier in the offseason.

  • Cardinals' Elijah Jones: Won't see action in rookie season

Jones (ankle) had his 21-day practice window expire Thursday without being activated off IR, marking an end to his rookie campaign, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. Jones was selected by the Cardinals in the third round of April's NFL Draft. He hurt his foot during the preseason and began the campaign on IR. Jones wasn't designated to return until Dec. 5, and he wasn't able to ramp up enough during practice to be activated before his practice window expired. Jones will thus have to wait until the 2025 campaign to make his NFL debut.

  • Cardinals' Elijah Jones: Ruled out for Week 16

Jones (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Panthers, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. The rookie corner from Boston College has yet to play in an NFL game after sustaining an ankle injury in preseason that landed him on injured reserve. Despite limited practice sessions Wednesday and Friday, Jones will remain on IR and won't make his NFL debut in Week 16. Expect Max Melton and Kei'Trel Clark to continue serving as the Cardinals' top reserve cornerbacks until Jones returns to the field.

Jones (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against New England, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. After being drafted in the third round of April's NFL Draft, Jones hurt his ankle in the preseason and has yet to make his NFL debut. He had his 21-day practice window opened Dec. 5 but hasn't been activated off injured reserve. Jones did manage to log a trio of limited practices this week, but he'll have to wait until at least Sunday, Dec. 22 against Carolina to take the field in a regular-season NFL contest for the first time.

Jones (ankle) practiced in limited fashion Wednesday, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. Jones has yet to play this season after injuring his heel in Arizona's final preseason contest, but he had his 21-day practice window opened last Thursday, Dec. 5. The rookie cornerback remains on injured reserve, however, as he wasn't activated ahead of this past Sunday's loss to Seattle. It's not clear if Jones will be taken off IR this week to face the Patriots on Sunday.
