  • Jason Taylor: Cut by Kansas City

    The Chiefs waived Taylor on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

    Taylor appeared in eight games for the Rams in 2023 and spent a chunk of the 2024 season on the Cardinals' practice squad before inking a reserve/future deal with the Chiefs in January. He'll look for an opportunity elsewhere.

    Taylor sustained a groin injury in Week 1 against the Seahawks and was placed on injured reserve shortly after. He's eligible to make his 2023 season debut Sunday against the Cardinals.

    The 2023 seventh-round pick out of Oklahoma State suffered a groin injury during the Rams' Week 1 win over Seattle, and he's since been placed on IR. Taylor will now be forced to miss at least the next four weeks, and he won't be eligible to return until Week 6 against Arizona.

    No relation to Jason Taylor, Miami Dolphins legend, the Oklahoma State product post the second-highest vertical (43 inches) among all NFL Combine participants. Taylor was a legitimate playmaker in his two seasons as a starter (eight total interceptions), leading the Big 12 in interceptions in his redshirt senior campaign. Expect the 23-year-old to compete for a depth spot in the Rams' secondary.
