  • Myron Mitchell: Waived by Minnesota

The Vikings waived Mitchell on Monday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Mitchell missed a portion of training camp due to a quad injury, but when available, he made a strong impression and was vying for a roster spot. However, the undrafted product out of UAB now finds himself among the first waves of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline. Per Tomasson, it's possible Mitchell returns to the team's practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Vikings' Myron Mitchell: Over injury

Mitchell (quad) had missed some practice time, but he was able to compete in the Vikings' 26-20 preseason loss to the Raiders on Sunday, Sam Thiel of the team's official site reports. Mitchell had two catches on two targets for 37 yards in the contest. The 24-year-old joined the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in May of 2021 and spent all but one game on the Vikings' practice squad last season. A roster spot is far from guaranteed for Mitchell, but as long as he can stay healthy and compete, he'll give himself a chance to make the team.

  • Vikings' Myron Mitchell: Misses practice

Mitchell (quad) didn't practice Saturday, but the injury doesn't appear to be serious, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. The second-year wideout is fighting for a spot on the roster with a bevy of fellow wideouts, but he only has one NFL snap to his credit as he bounced between the practice squad and the main roster for much of 2021. The top three wideouts in the pecking order appear to be locked in at this point between Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and K.J. Osborn, meaning Mitchell will likely just be a depth piece if he does manage to come back from a tight quad and make the team.

  • Myron Mitchell: Reverts to practice squad

Mitchell reverted to the Vikings' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Mitchell played just one offensive snap in Monday's win over the Bears and didn't log any touches. While he could rejoin the active roster at some point if the Vikings are shorthanded, he's unlikely to have a significant fantasy role.

  • Vikings' Myron Mitchell: Elevated from practice squad

Mitchell was elevated from the Vikings' practice squad ahead of Monday's game against the Bears. Since Adam Thielen (ankle) is a game-time decision while Dede Westbrook (illness) and Dan Chisena (undisclosed) are on the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Monday's contest, Mitchell will join the active roster to provide additional depth at wide receiver. The undrafted rookie hasn't yet made his regular-season debut in the NFL.

  • Myron Mitchell: Hits waivers

Mitchell was waived by the Vikings on Tuesday. The undrafted wide receiver out of UAB registered three catches for 32 yards during the preseason. He was unable to carve out a role with the Vikings, so he's expected to end up on the practice squad after he clears waivers.

  • Vikings' Myron Mitchell: Activated from COVID-19 list

The Vikings activated Mitchell (undisclosed) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Mitchell was placed on the COVID list Aug. 2, but he's now been cleared to resume practicing. The undrafted rookie out of UAB will need to impress during the remaining days leading up to Week 1 for any chance at making the Vikings' final roster.

  • Vikings' Myron Mitchell: Ends up on COVID list

The Vikings placed Mitchell (undisclosed) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Chad Graff of The Athletic reports. Mitchell was sent to the COVID-19 list alongside quarterbacks Kirk Cousins, Kellen Mond and Nate Stanley. The undrafted rookie is fighting for a depth role in Minnesota's wide receiver room, so any time spent sidelined during training camp could prove detrimental to his chances of making the roster.
