  • Cardinals' Kei'Trel Clark: Moved to IR

The Cardinals moved Clark (back) to injured reserve Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Clark developed a back injury during Week 17 that forced him out of last Sunday's loss to the Bengals. The cornerback's movement to IR will end his 2025 season, as the Cardinals have been eliminated from playoff contention. Clark finished with 25 tackles (17 solo) and two passes defensed over 14 games. Kalen King will likely operate as the reserve slot cornerback for the Cardinals' Week 18 divisional matchup against the Rams.

  • Cardinals' Kei'Trel Clark: Won't play in Week 17

Clark (back) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bengals, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. The third-year pro from Louisville didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday due to a back injury, so it's no surprise that he'll be sidelined for the Week 17 contest. Clark has played 201 defensive snaps across 14 games this season, recording 25 total tackles, two passes defensed and one forced fumble. Kalen King is likely to start as the Cardinals' top slot corner in Clark's stead Sunday.

  • Cardinals' Kei'Trel Clark: Shines as starter

Clark recorded nine tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 37-14 loss versus the Rams. Clark did not play a single defensive snap in the two games leading up to the Cardinals' contest in Week 12, but he made a case for more playing time Sunday, earning a share of the team lead for total tackles. What he lacks in size he seems to make up for somewhat with a combination of burst, speed and aggression, and it would make sense for a collapsing Arizona team to continue to give reps to its rookie sixth-rounder during the home stretch of the season.

  • Cardinals' Kei'Trel Clark: More secondary help coming

The Cardinals selected Clark in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 180th overall. Clark provides the Cardinals a bit of flexibility as a potential inside or outside corner, but it's worth pointing out he struggled in 2022 as a primary slot secondary option. He's not the biggest corner and doesn't give excellent run support, but he's a rangy athlete and at minimum should be a good special teams option.
