Burns has seemingly recovered from the knee injury that landed him on Chicago's injured reserve before he was waived in August. If he catches on with Tennessee, the 23-year-old could provide some much-needed depth at safety, as Xavier Woods is currently dealing with a hamstring injury.

Burns (knee) was waived from injured reserve after reaching an injury settlement with the Bears on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Burns suffered a knee injury in the Bears' preseason opener against the Dolphins, ultimately being placed on injured reserve Aug. 13. The safety will now be eligible to play elsewhere in 2025 if he can prove healthy enough.

Burns went unclaimed off waivers after being let go with an injury designation. As such, the 23-year-old safety has been moved to injured reserve, which means he will be required to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Bears.

Burns has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's preseason game against the Dolphins due to a knee injury, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Burns will undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, but it could put him in jeopardy of missing the Bears' next preseason game against the Bills on Sunday, Aug. 17. He signed with Chicago as an undrafted free agent in May and is competing for a depth spot in the secondary.
