Bills' Tre'Davious White: Fifth-year option picked up
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Buffalo exercised White's fifth-year option for 2021 on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Since entering the league in 2017, White has more than lived up to his first-round draft pedigree. He submitted his best season to date in 2019, tying for the league lead with six interceptions en route to earning first-team All-Pro honors in 2019. As such, it's no surprise to see the Bills pick up his pricey fifth-year option, which may only be a placeholder until Buffalo works out an extension with him.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Sitting out Week 17
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White (coach's decision) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets.

The Bills are locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoff picture, and coach Sean McDermott is opting to rest numerous key players in the regular-season finale. Reserve cornerbacks Siran Neal and Kevin Johnson figure to see increased roles in Sunday's contest. White finishes the 2019 regular season with 58 tackles (48 solo), 17 passes defensed, six interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Coach unconcerned about shoulder
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that White didn't suffer anything "significant to this point" when he briefly left Sunday's game at Pittsburgh with a shoulder injury, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

White ended up returning to action quickly after it looked like he might be done for the night, later making a huge interception and long return that started to turn the game around for the Bills. There's a chance the team's star cornerback will get treated carefully once the practice week starts up, but it sounds like he should be in his usual shape for Saturday's game at New England.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Returns and plays major role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White returned from a shoulder injury that sidelined him temporarily Sunday against the Steelers and finished with two interceptions and four total tackles.

White's second pick of the day -- following his return from the injury -- featured a 49-yard return that changed the tune of a game the Steelers had been leading, and in the end the Bills' playoff ticket was punched thanks to their stud corner. White's six interceptions are tied for the NFL lead -- the only problem in IDP leagues is that he's so good in coverage he someones gets avoided. Pittsburgh didn't take that path Sunday night and got burned badly. With the playoffs secure, White and the Bills will travel to New England next week to try and put some late pressure on the Patriots for the AFC East crown.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Right back in there
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White (shoulder) was able to return to Sunday's game against the Steelers, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports.

White was evidently able to get sufficient treatment for the injury quickly, so he's back out there anchoring Buffalo's stingy secondary.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Hurts shoulder on SNF
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Steelers.

Losing the team's top cornerback for any period would be a devastating blow to the Bills' defense as the team tries to secure a playoff spot. White made his mark on the game early with an interception but appeared to injure his shoulder while making a tackle on the next possession.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Terrific work at corner
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White had three tackles and an interception -- his fourth of the season -- during Sunday's win over the Broncos.

White is up to 50 tackles, the aforementioned four picks and two forced fumbles this season -- excellent production considering teams shy away from his side of the field because he's so darn good in coverage. His name is worth mentioning for those owning wideouts of Buffalo opponents. If your guy is the team's clear-cut No. 1 receiver, odds are White's gonna shadow him the entire game, and usually with aplomb. Case in point: Denver's Courtland Sutton had by far his worst game of the season Sunday, snagging just one of eight targets for 27 yards.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: First sack of career
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White notched four tackles (three solo) and one sack in Sunday's 24-9 win over Washington.

White doesn't normally offer any upside as a pass rusher, but he managed to bring down an opposing quarterback for the first time in his career versus rookie Dwayne Haskins. The third-year pro has performed at a stellar level through eight contests, and he has a favorable slate of games on deck with the Browns, Dolphins and Broncos coming up.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Earns weekly honors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White registered five tackles (four solo), an interception and a forced fumble in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Dolphins.

White was named as the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after his stellar performance. He has now forced five turnovers in six games, and the 24-year-old cornerback leads the league with a 26.6 passer rating when targeted. White has a tougher matchup on deck against the Eagles, though Carson Wentz enters this contest with interceptions in back-to-back games.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Ready to rock
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White (neck) does not have an injury designation for Sunday's divisional tilt against the Patriots.

White was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he managed to log a full session Friday. The 2017 first-round pick appears primed for his usual starting role versus New England.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Notches two picks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White recorded two interceptions and two pass breakups in Sunday's 21-17 win over the Bengals.

White posted two interceptions during the 2018 campaign, and he's already matched that total in Week 3 alone. The turnovers make White into a solid IDP contributor, although his tackle count can be flaky. Consider that going into Week 4 versus the Patriots, as Tom Brady hasn't turned the ball over yet this year.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Practices in full
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White (neck) was a full participant in Friday's practice.

White practiced in a non-contact jersey Wednesday and Thursday and now appears back to full health. The third-year cornerback is set for his usual starting role versus the Bengals on Sunday.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Sheds non-contact jersey
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White, who was limited the first two days of practice this week with a neck injury, is practicing Friday without a non-contact jersey, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

White is pretty much a guarantee to play Sunday against the Bengals, though we'll see if the Bills list him as questionable or sans injury tag. The stud corner will look to slow down a Cincinnati passing game, a unit that's been effective under its new coaching staff amid Cincy's otherwise disappointing 0-2 start.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Neck injury revealed
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White was listed as limited following Wednesday's practice due to a neck injury.

Given that the stud corner was still able to do some work during the week's first practice, we're not too worried about this week's game against the Bengals, a team that has had some decent success through the air so far even without star receiver A.J. Green.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Avoiding contact Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White (undisclosed) wore a no-contact jersey during Wednesday's practice, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

White will likely surface as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report. It's unclear what is bothering White, as he has played every defensive snap this season. If he's still practicing, however, White's on a good path to play Sunday versus the Bengals.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Back at it Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White returned to practice Monday after suffering a quad contusion in Friday's preseason game and sitting out Sunday's session, Sal Maiorana of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports.

The injury never really seemed like a concern, though it's probably nice for the Bills to know their No. 1 cornerback's status won't be an issue for the season opener against the Jets in less than two weeks.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Held out of practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White (quadriceps) was unable to suit up for Sunday's practice, Marcel Louis-Jacques of reports.

White left Friday's preseason game against the Lions with a quad contusion, and it's caused him to miss more time. It's unclear if the team is holding him out as a precaution, or if the injury is more serious than originally thought. Both Captain Munnerlyn and Kevin Johnson are likely to fill in at practice in White's stead.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Leaves with quad contusion
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White was forced out of Friday's preseason contest against Detroit with a quad contusion.

White was able to walk off the field under his own power and wrapped his leg with ice after sustaining the injury. The severity of the issue is unclear, but if the 24-year-old misses any time, Captain Munnerlyn and Kevin Johnson would likely be candidates to see increased reps.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Participates offseason practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White (concussion) participated in the Bills' offseason practices.

White saw his stats dip slightly in his second NFL season, recording 54 tackles and eight passes defensed, including two interceptions, all of which were lower than his rookie year numbers, though that was due mostly to opposing offenses avoiding the stud corner. He'll open the season as a starting cornerback and one of the better defensive backs in the league so long as he stays healthy.

Bills' Tre'Davious White: Youngster continues to shine
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

White (concussion) followed up a big rookie campaign with another strong season in 2018, finishing with 54 tackles, eight passes defensed and two interceptions. He's yet to miss a game through his first two pro seasons.

Unfortunately, a lot of the metrics that grade White as one of the league's better corners don't count in fantasy, plus he's built up enough of a reputation that teams are shying away from him more and more. Still, those are at least reliable IDP numbers, while White and safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer (all under contract for 2019) will continue to make up one of the league's better secondaries.
