The Bills really made out in trading down with Kansas City and still getting a guy that looks like he could be an elite corner for years to come. White has a legitimate case for both Rookie of the Year and Defensive Rookie of the Year, though the competition for both will be pretty close. The secondary was the Bills' best overall unit on both sides of the ball in 2017, and three or all four starters should be back next season. White will assume his spot as the No. 1 corner no mater what else the Bills do this offseason.
White recorded seven tackles (three solo), three pass defensed and one interception in Sunday's win over the Dolphins.
White now has three interceptions over the past four games. His seven tackles mark a new career-high, brining his season-total to 57 (45 solo). He'll now face one of the toughest tasks on the season, trying to contain Tom Brady and Patriots' passing attack.
White is no longer in concussion protocol.
White suffered the concussion in Sunday's loss to the Patriots and was limited in Wednesday's practice, but he looks to be symptom-free now and should be ready to play Sunday against the Colts. Look for White to be a full-go as the Bills' starting cornerback across from E.J. Gaines.
White was on the receiving end of an illegal hit from behind by the Patriots' Rob Gronkowski in Sunday's loss to New England, resulting in the cornerback sustaining a concussion while the tight end was levied a one-game suspension for his actions. It's a good sign that White will be able to practice in any capacity three days after the incident, but he'll need to clear all phases of the protocol in order to take the field Week 14 against the Colts. Leonard Johnson (knee) or Lafayette Pitts would likely draw the start at cornerback opposite E.J. Gaines if White is unable to play this week.
White logged his second interception of the season, but Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski drove him into the ground with the full force of his body well after the play, forcing White to leave the game. The obvious hope is that the 22-year-old will be able clear the concussion protocol, but his status for Week 14 will remains in question until that occurs.
