Enunwa caught seven of 11 targets for 92 yards in Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Dolphins.
Enunwa was Sam Darnold's go-to target throughout the contest, leading the team in yards, catches and targets. The wide receiver got wide open in the back of the end zone late in the first half, but his rookie quarterback overthrew him on what should have been an easy touchdown. Given his ability to create separation and prominent role in the offense, Enunwa should be universally owned after catching 13 balls for 155 yards and a touchdown through two weeks.
Enunwa is listed as the direct backup to Jermaine Kearse (abdomen) on New York's initial depth chart, which means he's likely to benefit most should Kearse's injury force him to sit out Week 1 against the Lions.
Even when Kearse was healthy, Enunwa was starting to generate some buzz in the fantasy community. The physical wide receiver missed all of last season with a neck injury, but he looks to be back at full health heading into this campaign. Enunwa's excellent route running should allow him to play both outside and in the slot as he looks to recapture the form from his 857-yard 2016 campaign.
Enunwa (thumb) is in uniform for Thursday's preseason game against Washington, Darryl Slater of NJ.com reports.
That said, previous reports suggested that the wideout wasn't expected to play, a notion echoed by Brian Costello of the New York Post. Enunwa is thus a very risky roll in DFS formats this week.
Enunwa is slated to sit out the next 1-2 weeks due to a thumb injury, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
After failing to practice Wednesday with an undisclosed injury, Enunwa was seen on the side at Thursday's session with a wrap on his right hand, according to Connor Hughes of The Athletic New York. During media availability, coach Todd Bowles termed Enunwa's issue a "sore" hand, which has been clarified further as a thumb concern. Enunwa's timetable for a return all but ensures he'll miss the Jets' first preseason game Friday, Aug. 10, giving him a maximum of two chances to stake a claim to a top spot in the receiving corps during exhibition season.
Enunwa missed Wednesday's practice due to an injury unrelated to his neck, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Enunwa had restrictions throughout the offseason program and into the start of training camp, finally gaining clearance for full participation without a no-contact jersey Saturday. While obviously not ideal, a new injury at least is preferable to a setback with the bulging disc that wiped out his entire 2017 campaign. Enunwa likely will compete for the No. 3 receiver job with Terrelle Pryor (ankle), who took part in team drills Wednesday for the first time since joining the Jets. Head coach Todd Bowles declined to elaborate on the nature of Enunwa's new injury.
