Broncos' Andrew Beck: Set for dual role in 2020
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beck is now the Broncos' most experienced fullback on the roster following Tuesday's trade that sent Andy Janovich to the Browns, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.

Janovich was a fan favorite, but a luxury after the Broncos switched the Pat Shurmur's offensive scheme, which seldom uses a fullback. Janovich was hurt for much of 2019, so Beck moved back and forth between tight end and fullback through the season. Expect for him to play tight end more consistently in 2020, but Beck could add value by being able to rotate into the backfield when necessary.

Broncos' Andrew Beck: Finishes 2019 with nine catches
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beck had nine catches off of 12 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown during the 2019 campaign.

The Broncos snagged Beck off waivers just before the start of the season to play fullback in place of the injured Andy Janovich. He remained on the game-day roster as a tight end and special-teams contributor when Janovich returned to health, only to move back to fullback when Janovich suffered a season-ending elbow injury. He meshed well with fellow rookie Drew Lock, including on a big 29-yard gain against Houston in Week 14 and a touchdown in Week 17 against Oakland. The Texas Longhorn is probably the safest bet to be a part of the 2020 tight-end room outside of Noah Fant thanks to his versatility and ability to play special teams. It will be interesting to see if he can grow into a TE2 under new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and more exposure to the position.

Broncos' Andrew Beck: Enjoys first multi-catch game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beck caught two of three targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 23-3 loss in Kansas City.

Beck had one of Denver's more fun plays during Sunday's snow game, making a 10-yard sliding catch on a low Drew Lock pass for a first-quarter first down. The rookie tight end has made some nice plays in recent weeks as he's played both in the backfield as a fullback and out on the wing. He's not worth considering from a fantasy perspective, but he looks to be developing into a versatile, reliable down-roster player for the Broncos. Next up is Sunday's matchup against the Lions' 31st-ranked pass defense.

Broncos' Andrew Beck: Records first catch since Week 5
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beck played nine of the Broncos' 50 offensive snaps and grabbed his lone target for an 18-yard reception in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Bills.

Though fullback Andy Janovich (elbow) landed on injured reserve ahead of the Week 12 contest, Beck didn't see his role expand as a blocker. In fact, the nine snaps were Beck's fewest since Week 7, as the Broncos instead made more use of fellow tight ends Jeff Heuerman (16 snaps) and Troy Fumagalli (10 snaps) behind starter Noah Fant. Beck at least made an impact in the passing game, but don't expect his involvement on offense grow based on just one reception.

Broncos' Andrew Beck: Should solve fullback issue
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beck, claimed by the Broncos on Sunday, worked at both tight end and fullback for New England this summer, Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston reports.

The undrafted rookie out of Texas will be part of a completely different offense in Denver as compared to what he's learned with New England, but his ability to block out of the backfield should give him far more exposure than a typical TE4. The Broncos' regular fullback, Andy Janovich (pectoral), has been among the league's most utilized fullbacks in recent years and Rich Scangarello's offense features the fullback more than most. Beck could see some of that action early in the season, but his time on the squad may have an expiration date. The Broncos decided not to place Janovich on injured reserve with the understanding that he'd only miss the first few games of the season. Once Janovich returns, Denver will have to decide whether Beck's spot could be better used to add depth elsewhere.

Broncos' Andrew Beck: Claimed off waivers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Broncos claimed Beck off waivers Sunday, Tom Pelissero of reports.

Beck was sent packing by the reigning Super Bowl champion Patriots earlier this week but found a new team Sunday. The undrafted rookie out of Texas will add depth to the position, as fellow tight ends Jake Butt (knee) and Austin Fort (knee) were both placed on IR by the Broncos earlier this offseason.

Andrew Beck: Waived by New England
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Patriots waived Beck on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Beck joined New England late April shortly following Rob Gronkowski's retirement, but he ultimately didn't show well enough to earn a spot on the initial 53-man roster. The undrafted rookie out of Texas will look to catch on as a run blocker elsewhere in the league.

Patriots' Andrew Beck: Lands with New England
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Patriots signed Beck as an undrafted free agent, Hayden Bird of the Boston Globe reports.

In the wake of Rob Gronkowski's retirement, it was surprising that the Patriots didn't add tight end depth in the draft, but they quickly swooped in on Beck, one of the best undrafted players at the position still available. He'll have a shot to make the team's roster, but it's not likely the Texas product will make a fantasy impact, with Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Matt LaCosse, Jacob Hollister, Stephen Anderson and Ryan Izzo also in the mix. The 6-foot-3, 252-pounder does offer potential to contribute as a run blocker, however.
