Lions' Hunter Bryant: Reverts to NFI list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (undisclosed) has reverted to the Lions' reserve/Non-Football Injury list, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.

Bryant was just cut with a non-football injury designation, but he'll technically get to stick with Detroit while not counting against the team's 90-man roster. He appeared in five games as a rookie last season, recording one 44-yard catch while drawing three targets.

Hunter Bryant: Let go by Lions
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Detroit cut Bryant (undisclosed) with a non-football injury designation Wednesday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

Bryant saw minimal action with the Lions in 2020 as a depth tight end, hauling in one of three targets for 44 yards in five games. The Washington product has had a history of concussions that has kept him off the field, but his release appears to stem from a different injury concern. Assuming he can pass a physical at some point, Bryant should at least be able to get an invite to an NFL training camp this summer.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Minimal usage in season finale
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant saw one target but did not catch a pass during Sunday's 37-35 loss to the Vikings.

That makes three targets on the season for the undrafted rookie out of Washington whose rookie debut was delayed by a combination of hamstring and head injuries. Not seeing action until Week 13, Bryant at least showcased a bit of explosion in his limited playing time (7.0 offensive snaps per game) this year by catching one of them for a 44-yard gain in Week 15. However, with both T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James under contract through at least 2022, the majority of Bryant's value resides in dynasty formats for the time being.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Snags first career catch
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant caught one of two targets for 44 yards during Sunday's 46-25 loss to the Titans.

Lining up in the slot, the 6-foot-2 tight end (who's really more of a receiver) made a nice grab down the seam that marked his first catch as a pro. With Detroit out of playoff contention and none of the Lions' top four receivers under contract beyond this season, it'll be interesting to see if the Lions give the rookie an extended look during the final two games of the campaign.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Logs four snaps on offense
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant logged four offensive snaps during Sunday's 31-24 loss to Green Bay.

Bryant saw another handful of snaps after logging five in his professional debut last week against the Bears. While there's a chance interim head coach Darrell Bevell might experiment with the rookie down the stretch, Bryant will need to see a big jump in playing time to be worthy of fantasy attention.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Set to make season debut
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (concussion) practiced fully for the third straight day Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Bears.

Bryant's absence from the injury report suggests he has cleared the concussion protocol and should make his season debut Sunday. His role will likely be limited primarily to special teams duties, however, as Bryant's unlikely to unseat T.J. Hockenson or Jesse James from the top two spots on Detroit's tight end depth chart.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Progressing through protocol
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

Bryant was activated off injured reserve Wednesday after sitting out the first 11 games with a hamstring injury and, recently, a concussion. While he's been moved back to the active roster, his appearance on the injury report indicates that he may still be in the league's five-step concussion protocol. However, the undrafted rookie out of Washington is on track to make his NFL debut this Sunday against the Bears if this progress continues. He'll slot into a depth role at tight end behind T.J. Hockenson, Jesse James and Isaac Nauta.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Finally activated off IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (concussion/hamstring) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Bryant returned to practice Nov. 11 but it apparently took a few weeks for him to clear concussion protocol. Now ready for action, Bryant is nothing more than the third or fourth tight end on the depth chart, though he probably is the second-best pass catcher Detroit has at the position.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Returns to practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (concussion/hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, indicating the beginning of his 21-day window to be activated from IR, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Bryant has yet to play this season, as he started the year with a hamstring injury and later was diagnosed with a concussion. It's unclear if he's still bothered by either injury, but the undrafted rookie out of Washington is eligible to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Football Team.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Placed on IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (concussion/hamstring) was placed on IR on Friday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.

Bryant has been bothered by both a concussion and a hamstring injury, and the depth tight end will have to sit out for at least three weeks as a result. He can return Nov. 8 against Minnesota at the earliest, and Detroit may opt to bring in another tight end behind T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James in the meantime.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Misses another practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (concussion/hamstring) was held out of Detroit's practice session Thursday.

The 22-year-old tight end was hampered by a hamstring issue for the first month of the season, and now he is navigating his way through concussion protocol as Detroit readies for a Week 6 matchup against the Jaguars. Bryant has yet to make an NFL appearance after registering 52 catches and 825 receiving yards last year during his final collegiate season at Washington.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Enters concussion protocol
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant didn't participate in Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury and a concussion.

Bryant missed the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury, but the concussion is a near concern for the rookie tight end. He'll have two more days of practice to get onto the field before the Lions decide whether he carries a designation into Sunday's game versus the Jaguars.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Sitting out Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Saints.

The undrafted free agent out of Washington will remain sidelined through the Lions' Week 5 bye with hopes of returning against the Jaguars in Week 6. T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James are the only tight ends active for the Lions on Sunday.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Status uncertain for Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Saints, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Bryant stayed on the practice field the entire week, and although it was only in a limited fashion, it was the first time he's accomplished that this season. The undrafted rookie could make his NFL debut Sunday if his recovery keeps progressing. If he plays, he'll likely slot in as the No. 3 tight end behind T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Practicing on a limited basis
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.

Bryant has now logged back-to-back limited practices while recovering from his hamstring injury. The undrafted rookie will target making his NFL debut against the Saints on Sunday, but he may first need to resume practicing without restrictions.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Debut still on hold
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (hamstring) has been ruled out of Sunday's game in Arizona, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Bryant's NFL debut remains on hold as the undrafted tight end will be sidelined for a third consecutive week to open his career. His next chance to suit up will come in Week 4 against the Saints.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Unable to play Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (hamstring) has been ruled out of Sunday's game versus the Packers, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

The undrafted TE made the team out of camp but is still awaiting his NFL debut. He bumped up to limited participation in Friday's practice, which bodes well for his availability in Week 3's matchup versus the Cardinals.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Still absent from practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN reports.

Bryant has yet to resume practicing since sustaining a hamstring injury in training camp. The undrafted rookie looks in line to miss Sunday's game in Green Bay, but his absence won't have a significant impact on Detroit's offense.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Won't suit up Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Bears, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Bryant's hamstring injury kept him from practicing in any capacity this week. The undrafted rookie will work to get healthy enough to face Green Bay in Week 2, but even when Bryant does retake the field he'll likely play only a marginal role behind T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James.

Lions' Hunter Bryant: Absent from practice again
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (hamstring) won't participate in Thursday's practice, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

With two missed practices to begin the Lions' Week 1 prep, Bryant looks in danger of landing on the team's inactive list once Sunday arrives. Even if he demonstrates enough progress at Friday's practice to gain clearance for the season opener, Bryant is unlikely to see many reps on offense behind the Lions' top two tight ends, T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James.
