Tarasenko scored his fourth goal of the season Sunday in a 5-4 overtime loss to Vancouver. Tarasenko gave Detroit a 4-3 lead at 4:50 of the final frame, and he added three shots in 15:01 of ice time. Despite the relatively sluggish start, fantasy managers should keep tabs on Tarasenko given his recent promotion.

  • Red Wings' Vladimir Tarasenko: Scores, assists Friday

Tarasenko scored a power-play goal and delivered an even-strength assist in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Devils. The 32-year-old winger scored a goal for the first time since Oct. 19 in a 5-2 win over the Predators. Tarasenko's best days are behind him, but the decrease in production is still worth noting. He has just three goals and seven helpers across 22 appearances in 2024-25.

Tarasenko has a helper in three straight games after helping out on a Dylan Larkin goal late in Saturday's loss. The 32-year-old Tarasenko has struggled with consistency so far, so it's tough to tell if this is a mirage or a return to form on offense. The veteran winger has six points, 25 shots on net, nine hits and a minus-4 rating over 16 appearances, playing primarily in a third-line role.

  • Red Wings' Vladimir Tarasenko: Garners helper

Tarasenko posted a power-play assist, two hits, two PIM and a minus-3 rating in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Ducks. Tarasenko has a helper in each of the last two contests to bounce back from a seven-game slump. The winger's assist Friday was his first power-play point of the year, which makes sense in the context of his relatively limited usage overall. He's now at five points, 23 shots on net and a minus-3 rating through 15 appearances.

Tarasenko picked up the flu bug and will be a game-time decision against Winnipeg on Wednesday, Max Bultman of The Athletic reports. Tarasenko wasn't on the ice for Wednesday's game-day skate and will need to recover quickly in order to suit up versus the Jets. If the 32-year-old winger does miss out, the Wings are likely to deploy seven defensemen, probably Erik Gustafsson, rather than recalling a forward from AHL Grand Rapids.

  • Red Wings' Vladimir Tarasenko: Heading to Motor City

Tarasenko signed a two-year, $9.5 million contract with the Red Wings on Wednesday. Tarasenko had 23 goals and 55 points across 76 regular-season contests between Ottawa and Florida in 2023-24. He also supplied five goals and nine points in 24 playoff games to aid the Panthers in their Cup-winning run. Tarasenko isn't a safe bet to reach the 60-point mark at this stage of his career, but it also can't be ruled out. At worst, he should be a solid middle-six option for Detroit as long as he stays healthy.

The 32-year-old has faced his share of struggles during the postseason -- he was recently demoted to the third line after serving mostly in a top-six role since he was traded from Ottawa. He did have a crucial marker against his former club in Game 6, so perhaps this game serves as a confidence booster for Tarasenko ahead of the Stanley Cup Finals.
