Gibson is listed on the roster of AHL Coachella Valley. Joey Daccord was on the ice for Seattle's practice Monday after reportedly being returned to the minors Sunday. It may have just been a paper move.... See More ... See Less

Kraken's Christopher Gibson: Promoted to NHL
Gibson was recalled from AHL Coachella Valley on Sunday, per CapFriendly. Gibson has posted an unsightly .722 save percentage in three AHL appearances this season. He hasn't seen any NHL action since the 2020-21 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Christopher Gibson: Sent back down
Gibson was reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley on Wednesday, Kraken radio announcer Mike Benton reports. Gibson was with the Kraken as goaltending depth when Martin Jones (personal) went on the non-roster list Tuesday. It appears Jones has returned to the team, so Gibson's services are no longer needed with the big club.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Christopher Gibson: Recalled from AHL
Gibson was summoned from AHL Coachella Valley on Tuesday, Bob Condor of the Kraken's official site reports. Gibson will be the backup goalie against Calgary because Martin Jones (personal) is unavailable. As a result, Joey Daccord will make his season debut between the pipes for the Kraken.... See More ... Christopher Gibson: Released from PTO
Gibson was released from his professional tryout with the Coyotes on Thursday. Considering the Coyotes have rather lackluster options in net, this doesn't bode well for Gibson's ability to find a two-way deal before the season starts. The 29-year-old may have to settle for an AHL-only deal or head overseas to find playing time in 2022-23.... See More ... See Less -
Panthers' Christopher Gibson: Sent down Wednesday
Gibson was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Wednesday. Gibson's time with the big club ended after Sergei Bobrovsky was cleared from an upper-body injury and served as Spencer Knight's backup Tuesday versus the Devils. The 28-year-old Gibson will remain the Panthers' No. 3 option in goal in the organization, though he shouldn't be expected to play much at the NHL level.... See More ... See Less -
Panthers' Christopher Gibson: Promoted to NHL
Gibson was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Friday, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports. Gibson could serve as Spencer Knight's backup Saturday against the Hurricanes if Sergei Bobrovsky (upper body) isn't available. The 28-year-old owns an unsightly 4.33 GAA and .882 save percentage in four AHL appearances this season. Once Bobrovsky is healthy, Gibson will head back to the minors.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Up to active roster again
Gibson was promoted to the active roster Tuesday, per CapFriendly. Gibson will serve as goaltending depth for the Lightning during the playoffs. It's unlikely he sees any playing time unless Andrei Vasilevskiy is unavailable.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Back on taxi squad
Gibson was sent to the taxi squad Monday, CapFriendly reports. Gibson allowed one goal on 23 shots in Sunday's win over the Red Wings. Barring an injury, he likely won't see any more NHL action down the stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Backing up Saturday
Gibson has been promoted to Tampa Bay's active roster and will serve as Curtis McElhinney's backup during Saturday's matchup with Detroit, Bryan Burns of the Lightning's official site reports. Gibson will likely return to the taxi squad prior to Sunday's rematch with the Red Wings. The 28-year-old backstop allowed four goals on just 17 shots in his lone appearance this season April 4 against Detroit.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Starting against Red Wings
Gibson was promoted to the active roster to make the home start against the Red Wings on Sunday, Bryan Burns of the Lightning's official site reports. Gibson will make his Lightning debut Sunday. The 28-year-old netminder has just 14 NHL games on his resume, posting a .904 save percentage and a 3-4-3 record in the process. The Red Wings are certainly a favorable matchup, though, as they rank last in the league with just 2.13 goals per game.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Added to taxi squad
Gibson was promoted to the Lightning's taxi squad Friday. Gibson will swap spots with Spencer Martin, who was sent to the minors in a corresponding move. Gibson hasn't appeared in an NHL contest since 2018-19.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Sent back to minors
Gibson was assigned to AHL Syracuse on Monday. Spencer Martin was promoted from the minors to serve as the taxi-squad goalie for the time being. Gibson didn't play a game with the Lightning, but he figures to handle a decent workload in the AHL. Last season, he posted a .914 save percentage and a 10-8-5 record across 25 AHL appearances.... Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Reverts to taxi squad
Gibson was reassigned to the taxi squad Tuesday, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com reports. Gibson was on the active roster for Monday's game as the backup to Curtis McElhinney to assure a full night off for Andrei Vasilevskiy. That won't be the case Tuesday, as Vasilevskiy will start and McElhinney will back up, allowing Gibson to return to his taxi squad role. That's a position the 28-year-old Gibson will likely fill for the bulk of the season.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Christopher Gibson: On waivers to get to taxi squad
Gibson was waived Monday, reports the Tampa Bay Times. If he clears, Gibson will likely be assigned to the taxi squad and be available should injury or illness strike the Bolts this season. He doesn't have a lot of NHL experience, as he's appeared in just 14 NHL games since turning pro in 2013-14.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Christopher Gibson: Signed by Lightning
Gibson penned a one-year, two-way deal with the Lightning on Friday. Gibson was a relatively high draft pick in 2011, going 49th overall to the Kings. However, he's only made 14 NHL appearances since turning pro in 2013-14, instead spending the bulk of his career in the AHL. Through 208 games there, the 27-year-old has posted a .911 save percentage, 2.60 GAA and 105-67-33 record. Long story short: the Lightning are set in net with star Andrei Vasilevskiy and capable NHL-journeyman backup Curtis McElhinney, so Gibson figures to feature almost exclusively with AHL Syracuse.... Islanders' Christopher Gibson: Moved back to minors
The Islanders shipped Gibson back to AHL Bridgeport on Wednesday. Gibson's reassignment indicates that Robin Lehner (upper body) will dress for Thursday's contest against the Canadiens. He made a relief appearance against the Flyers on Saturday and came up a perfect 10-for-10 in terms of saves on shots faced. He'll return to the minors to provide organizational depth behind a pair of stalwarts in Lehner and Thomas Greiss.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Christopher Gibson: Stops 10 pucks in relief
Gibson made 10 saves in relief during the third period in a 5-2 loss to the Flyers on Saturday. It wasn't in the plans to use him, but with Thomas Greiss yielding five goals in the first two periods, coach Barry Trotz pressed Gibson into service just a few days following his emergency call-up. It was just his second NHL appearance of the season, but Gibson has a .941 save percentage, stopping 16 of 17 shots, and a 1.50 GAA this season. The 26-year-old is 3-4-3 with a 3.45 GAA and .904 save percentage in 14 career NHL games.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Christopher Gibson: Emergency recall
Gibson was an emergency call-up from AHL Bridgeport on Wednesday. This move suggests that there may be a lasting injury to Robin Lehner (undisclosed), but we wouldn't make any rash lineup decisions until the team has a chance to speak on the matter. Besides, the Islanders don't play until Thursday evening. Gibson has maintained an 18-9-1 record with a 2.89 GAA and .900 save percentage through 33 games for the AHL's Sound Tigers this season.... Islanders' Christopher Gibson: Returned to AHL
Gibson was sent back to Bridgeport of the AHL on Sunday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Gibson was called up on an emergency basis when Robin Lehner (undisclosed) was forced to miss a couple of games due to injury. Lehner returned to the team Saturday, which mean Gibson was no longer needed. Gibson only played one game while with the team, giving up one goal on seven shots in relief of Thomas Greiss during a 6-2 loss to the Penguins on Thursday.... See More ... See Less
