  • Capitals' Nick Jensen: Picks up helper Wednesday

Jensen produced an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Golden Knights. Jensen had the secondary assist on Evgeny Kuznetsov's opening tally in the first period. In 11 games since his last goal, Jensen has been limited to just a pair of assists. The 31-year-old has rarely been a consistent source of offense in his NHL career -- he's much more effective at preventing goals. The blueliner reached the 20-point mark for the second time in his six-year career Wednesday, and he's added 79 shots on net, 90 blocked shots, 132 hits and a plus-34 rating through 71 outings.

Jensen tallied a goal and added two shots and two hits during Friday's 4-3 shootout win over the Sabres. The marker snaps a five-game scoring drought for Jensen. The 31-year-old has set a new career high in goals with five -- alongside 13 assists and a sterling plus-25 rating -- in 60 games this season. Jensen has established himself as a valuable top-four defender for the Capitals alongside Dmitry Orlov and is worth a gander for those in deeper formats.

The Minnesota native is up to 13 points, 60 shots on net, 84 hits, 64 blocked shots and a plus-25 rating in 51 outings overall. He remains more of a physical and defensive presence in the top four.

Jensen (upper body) is in Tuesday's lineup against Pittsburgh, Samantha Pell of The Washington Post reports. Jensen will play for the first time since Jan. 20 after missing the last four games. • Capitals' Nick Jensen: Labeled game-time call

Jensen (upper body) will be a game-time decision ahead of Tuesday's clash with the Penguins, Samantha Pell of The Washington Post reports. Per the NHL media site, Jensen has been activated off injured reserve. Jensen was able to fully participate in Monday's practice session and appears to be trending in the right direction, especially considering he was activated off injured reserve. If the blueliner can get onto the ice versus Pittsburgh, he figures to bump Matt Irwin from the lineup and would resume logging over 19 minutes per night.

  • Capitals' Nick Jensen: Practices without limitations

Jensen (upper body) was a full participant in Monday's practice, JJ Regan of NBC Sports Washington reports. Jensen was knocked out after playing 11:35 in a 4-3 loss to the Bruins on Jan. 20 and has been out of action since. The 31-year-old's availability for Tuesday's clash with arch-rival Pittsburgh has not been confirmed, but given that he is participating in practice without any restrictions, it's likely that Jensen's return to the lineup is fairly imminent. The Minnesota native is on pace for a career year with three goals, 11 points and a sterling plus-20 rating in 39 games while averaging 19:20 of ice time.

  • Capitals' Nick Jensen: Designated for injured reserve

Jensen (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday. With Jensen labeled as week-to-week, his designation for IR shouldn't come as a surprise. Technically, the defenseman will be eligible to play as soon as Friday's matchup with Dallas but fantasy players should be expecting him out longer based on his announced timeline. With 11 points in 39 games this season, Jensen could top his career-best 20 point total from 2018-19.

  • Capitals' Nick Jensen: Exits Thursday's game

Jensen (upper body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Bruins. The reason for Jensen's injury isn't known at this time. It's a big loss for the Capitals, who are already missing Dmitry Orlov (suspension) and John Carlson (COVID-19 protocols) on defense. If Jensen is forced to miss additional time, Dennis Cholowski would likely enter the lineup.

The 31-year-old Jensen ended a six-game point drought with the assist. The American defenseman has 10 points, a plus-20 rating, 43 shots on net, 56 hits and 41 blocks through 30 contests. Jensen scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Panthers. It was the 31-year-old blueliner's second multi-point performance of the season. Jensen is on pace for a career-best campaign with three goals and nine points through 23 games, but he really moves the needle in fantasy formats that use other categories as well -- he's piled up 33 blocked shots, 37 shots, 44 hits and a stunning plus-21 rating along the way.

  • Capitals' Nick Jensen: Bags apple Wednesday

Jensen registered an assist, a plus-2 rating and two blocked shots during Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Canadiens. Jensen is having his best season with the Capitals with two goals and seven points in 20 games -- alongside an eye-popping plus-17 rating. • Capitals' Nick Jensen: Dishes helper Thursday

Jensen tallied an assist, a plus-2 rating and two shots during Thursday's 2-0 win over the Red Wings. Jensen is on track for a career year with two goals and five points in his first 13 games. The 31-year-old has been a valuable contributor for the injury-riddled Capitals to this point and has produced enough offensively to merit fantasy consideration in deeper leagues.

  • Capitals' Nick Jensen: Contributes offensively in win

Jensen registered a goal and an assist with a team-leading five hits in Tuesday's 6-3 win over Colorado. He also had two shots and a plus-3 rating. Jensen led a 3-on-1 rush late in the first period and finished off a give-and-go with Dmitry Orlov to give the Capitals a 2-1 edge. Later he drew the primary assist on Nic Dowd's rebound goal in the opening minute of the first period. Jensen will see plenty of minutes for the Capitals, but his offensive capabilities are limited; the four goals he scored as a rookie in 2016-17 remain his career best, and he's never topped 15 points in a season.

  • Capitals' Nick Jensen: Back on scoresheet

Jensen contributed an assist, three shots and two blocked shots during Saturday's 6-3 win over the Islanders. The helper snapped a 19-game scoreless streak for Jensen, who was enjoying a breakout campaign offensively until the scoreless streak began. The 30-year-old is a mainstay on Washington's third defense pairing alongside Zdeno Chara, but the offensive inconsistency significantly limits his fantasy upside.
