  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Snaps seven-game scoring drought

Goodrow found the back of the net in the Rangers' 5-2 win over New Jersey in Game 6 on Saturday.

Goodrow scored midway through the third period to push the Rangers' lead to 4-1. That tally brought his seven-game point drought to an end. Goodrow logged 13:17 of ice time Saturday and is expected to continue to serve primarily in a fourth-line role.

  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Two points against former team

Goodrow dished out two assists in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Lightning.

Both of Goodrow's assists came on goals by fellow fourth-liner Tyler Motte. Goodrow added one shot, one blocked shot, three hits and a plus-2 rating, but he surprisingly didn't get in on the fighting in an emotionally charged game that included 75 PIM and four bouts.

  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Gets physical in nation's capital

Goodrow had one shot, a minus-1 rating, three hits and a five-minute fighting major in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Capitals.

Goodrow drew the ire of Alex Ovechkin with some contact up high, as Ovechkin spent the rest of his shift besieging Goodrow with a slew of pushes, cross-checks and slashes. Ovechkin got a cross-checking penalty and a misconduct that just about ended any hope Washington had of erasing a three-goal deficit over the final 3:31, while Goodrow was challenged to a fight by Tom Wilson, but the officials broke that up before either physical forward could land any haymakers. Despite being relegated to a fourth-line role by the Rangers' active trade deadline, Goodrow still has the ability to get under opponents' skin with his effort and physicality. He's also two points away from reaching 30 for the second time in as many seasons with New York.

Goodrow opened the scoring for the Rangers in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Capitals.

Goodrow batted the puck out of the air and brushed twine for the 10th time in 59 games. Capping off an eventful first period, he also had seven PIM stemming from tripping and fighting calls. Goodrow is averaging 0.41 points per game, which is a strong rate for a fourth-line contributor, but it's worth noting that he went nine straight games without a point before hitting the scoresheet Saturday.

  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Produces assist in victory

Goodrow fashioned an assist in Friday's 4-1 win over the Golden Knights.

Goodrow is averaging 1.9 points per 60 minutes, which would be a career high if he can sustain it through season's end. Specifically, the undrafted winger has nine goals, 14 assists and a plus-4 rating through 49 games; not too shabby for someone averaging only 14:55 of ice time.

The 29-year-old forward can offer sporadic offensive production while adding a physical presence (51 hits, 22 blocked shots) to the Rangers' lineup. Goodrow now has eight goals and 10 assists through 35 games this season.

He's up to six goals, six assists, 32 PIM, 38 shots on goal, 44 hits, 18 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating in 28 appearances this season.

Goodrow found the back of the net in the Rangers' 3-1 win against Ottawa on Wednesday.

Goodrow has six goals and 11 points in 24 contests this season. His scoring pace is roughly in line with 2021-22 when he finished with 13 goals and 33 points in 79 contests. He's probably not going to do much better this season, especially given that Goodrow entered Wednesday's game averaging 14:56 of ice time, including just 0:28 on the power play.

Goodrow scored a goal on three shots in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Ducks.

Goodrow posted a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kraken.

Goodrow doesn't regularly feature on the power play, but he was out there to set up Vincent Trocheck's game-tying goal in the third period. It's a well-earned chance to play in a larger role, as Goodrow has two goals and three helpers through his last four games. The 29-year-old forward is up to nine points, 26 shots on net, 26 hits, 13 blocked shots, 13 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 18 contests, putting him on pace for a career year on offense.

  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Tallies opening goal

Goodrow scored a goal, went plus-2, logged two hits and blocked three shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Coyotes.

The Coyotes struggled to clear their zone, and a turnover went straight to Goodrow, who capitalized for the opening goal at 15:05 of the second period. The forward has picked up four points over his last three contests after going seven games in a row with no contributions on offense. For the season, the hard-nosed 29-year-old has racked up four goals, four assists, 24 shots on net, 25 hits, 12 blocked shots, 13 PIM and a plus-2 rating in 17 appearances.

  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Rolls third-period trifecta

Goodrow scored a goal and was credited with two assists during Thursday's 8-2 victory over the Red Wings.

Goodrow helped the Rangers pile on the Red Wings. Of the six third-period goals allowed by goalie Ville Husso, the 29-year-old forward had a hand in half of the clinching markers. His goal and first assist played a role in the Rangers scoring four times in 2:47. Unchecked in front of the net, Goodrow faked out Husso by slickly shifting the puck from his forehand to backhand and depositing it into an empty net for his first marker in eight outings. It was his only shot, but he registered a season-best plus-3 rating.

A third-line center, Goodrow's second-period tally tied the game at 1-all. His third-period helper sent the game into overtime. The 29-year-old posted a season-best plus-2 rating in this one.

  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Pads lead in win

Goodrow scored a goal on three shots and added four PIM in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Lightning.

Goodrow added an insurance tally at 11:00 of the third period. The forward enjoyed a career year in 2021-22, registering 13 goals and 20 assists in 79 contests. He'll likely see a middle-six role with limited power-play time, so Goodrow's usefulness in fantasy will come in deeper formats that reward his physicality and ability to chip in shorthanded points.

  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Skating on his own Saturday

Goodrow (ankle) won't practice Saturday, but he did skate on his own, per Arthur Staple of The Athletic.

The plan is for Goodrow to join the Rangers for Sunday's practice. He's been working his way back from this injury since the start of training camp, but based on his progress it wouldn't be surprising if he's ultimately available for the season opener.

  • Rangers' Barclay Goodrow: Will be limited in camp

Goodrow is still working his way back from an ankle injury and will not participate in any scrimmages at the onset of camp, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports Wednesday.

Goodrow is coming off a career-best season in which he set new personal highs in goals (13), assists (20) and average ice time (16:43). The fact that Goodrow is still able to practice with the team would seem to indicate that he will be available in time for Opening Night against the Lightning.
