  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Inks five-year extension

Roy signed a five-year, $3 million AAV contract with Vegas on Monday. Roy cashed in after a breakout 2021-22 campaign in which he set new career highs in goals (15), points (39), hits (85) and average ice time (16:16). He also put 145 shots on net and tallied 51 PIM through 78 games. The 25-year-old winger should maintain a spot in Vegas' middle six and see some power-play time for the next several seasons.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Emerging power forward

Roy notched an assist, a plus-3 rating, two PIM and two shots on goal in Friday's 7-4 win over the Blues. Roy took a big step forward in 2021-22, ending with 15 goals and 24 assists in 78 contests. The 25-year-old's ability to stay in the lineup earned him extra opportunities as many other Golden Knights lost time to injuries. Roy added 85 hits and 51 PIM while seeing most of his time in a middle-six role. Should the Golden Knights move on from Reilly Smith (knee) in the offseason, Roy could be near the top of the list to replace him on the second line full-time next year.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Gets one of each Sunday

Roy scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, logged four hits and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Sharks. Roy helped out on a William Carrier goal in the second period and scored one himself in the third. It appeared that would be enough, but the Sharks scored twice over the last 2:06 to tie the game at 4-4 before going on to win in the shootout. Roy has five points in his last five games, and he's up to 15 goals, 38 points, 142 shots on net, 82 hits, 47 PIM and a plus-10 rating in 75 outings overall.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Collects helper

Roy notched an assist and two hits in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Devils. Roy set up linemate Keegan Kolesar's tally in the second period. This was Roy's third point in his last three games after he struggled through a six-game slump. The 25-year-old forward has 36 points, 139 shots on net, 76 hits and a plus-8 rating through 73 outings. While it's been a solid season, he's unlikely to have much scoring stability in a fourth-line role.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Ends slump with two points

Roy scored a power-play goal on two shots and added an assist in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Flames. Roy entered Thursday on a six-game point drought, and he was dropped down to a fourth-line role. That turned out to be just what he needed to get going again. He set up an Evgenii Dadonov goal and scored one of his own, both in the second period. Roy remains involved on the power play as part of the second unit, so that should keep his offense from bottoming out. The 25-year-old has 35 points, 135 shots on net, 47 PIM and a plus-10 rating through 71 appearances.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Two points in OT win

Roy dished two assists in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over Chicago. Both helpers were timely, as he had a hand in both Alex Pietrangelo's tying tally midway through the third period and Evgenii Dadonov's OT winner. Roy is on a roll, collecting three goals and eight points over the last eight games while skating alongside Jack Eichel.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Pair of points in big win

Roy scored a goal on three shots, dished an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Predators. Roy scored at 13:45 of the first period, capitalizing on a turnover. He also set up Alex Pietrangelo's insurance marker late in the third. The 25-year-old Roy has six points in his last seven outings -- he's responded well to a bump up the lineup as the Golden Knights navigate a plethora of injuries. The Quebec native has 31 points, 122 shots on net, 66 hits, 47 PIM and a plus-5 rating through 63 outings, more than doubling his 15-point output from 50 contests last season.

The 25-year-old Roy has two goals and two helpers during his four-game point streak. The Quebec native struggled to find the scoresheet throughout February and early March, but he appears to be back on track lately. For the season, he has 29 points, 118 shots, 62 hits and 45 PIM through 60 contests. His helper Saturday was his first career shorthanded point.

Roy scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Panthers. Roy turned a Panthers turnover into the Golden Knights' game-winning goal at 13:23 of the third period. This was Roy's second goal and third point in his last three outings. The 25-year-old is up to 12 tallies, 28 points, 116 shots on net, 60 hits and a plus-3 rating in 59 appearances. With the Golden Knights missing four of their top-six forwards, Roy should continue to see more ice time in the near term.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Draws helper Sunday

Roy notched an assist in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Blue Jackets. The assist snapped a four-game point drought for Roy -- he last got on the scoresheet March 4 with a pair of goals against the Ducks. The 25-year-old forward has 26 points, 111 shots on net, 59 hits and a plus-4 rating through 57 appearances. As long as the Golden Knights are missing five forwards due to injury, he should see top-six minutes.

Roy scored two goals in Friday's 5-4 win over the Ducks. Roy's pair of goals came in a span of 3:05 during the second period as the Golden Knights took control of the contest. The 25-year-old had been limited to three assists in 15 games since his last goal, playing mainly in a third-line role. He was moved up to the top line Friday to spark the Golden Knights' stagnant offense, and that adjustment from head coach Pete DeBoer work. Roy has 10 tallies, 25 points, 104 shots on net, 41 PIM and a plus-6 rating through 52 contests overall.

The Quebec native has been a steady depth scorer this season with 22 points (four on the power play), 83 shots on net, 39 PIM and a plus-8 rating in 42 contests overall. • Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: In virus protocols Tuesday

Roy was placed in the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Tuesday. Roy, along with Shea Theodore and Nolan Patrick, won't be available to play Tuesday versus the Maple Leafs. Jake Leschyshyn and Jonas Rondbjerg were called up Tuesday and could enter the lineup in a bottom-six role, while Brett Howden is most likely to move into Roy's place on the third line.
