  • Blues' Dylan Holloway: Contract offer unmatched

Holloway will officially sign with the Blues on a two-year, $4.58 million contract after the Oilers opted not to match the offer Tuesday. Holloway is far from a lock for the Opening Night lineup. He figures to be in a battle for ice time with Mathieu Joseph and Kasperi Kapanen but should at least have the opportunity to make an impression during training camp. In his 38 NHL appearances last year, the 22-year-old Holloway showed flashes of his offensive game, recording six goals and three assists while also dishing out 90 hits.

  • Oilers' Dylan Holloway: Signs offer sheet

Holloway agreed to terms on an offer sheet with the Blues on Tuesday worth $4.58 million over two years. Holloway saw action in 38 regular-season contests with Edmonton last year in which he generated six goals on 56 shots, three assists and 90 hits while averaging 11:22 of ice time. In the postseason, Holloway chipped in seven points over 25 games while dishing out 86 hits. Holloway's physicality could make him a decent fantasy option in certain formats. The Oilers will have seven days to match St. Louis' offer in order to keep the Calgary native.

Holloway scored twice, dished an assist, went plus-3, added three hits and blocked two shots in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Panthers in Game 4. Through 22 playoff outings, the 22-year-old forward has five goals, two assists, 28 shots on net, 73 hits, 20 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating while filling a middle-six role.

The 22-year-old entered the postseason with just 89 games of NHL experience, but he's quickly showing he's taken strides in his development as one of the more impactful depth players on the Oilers' roster. The forward has four points, 14 shots on net, 34 hits, 12 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 12 playoff appearances. He's seen even-strength minutes on the second line lately, though his overall ice time remains limited.

The rookie has nine points, 34 shots on net, 59 hits, 25 PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 42 appearances.
